Week 8.

WEEK 8 Snowpoint City remains as cold and unforgiving as ever, through no fault of its residents. The city itself doesn't seem to see much change in the passing days; there's something you'll all become rather aware of on Sunday as the day goes on, and after so long with no incidents along those lines it's likely an unpleasant thing to deal with. There's also the fact that the changes to the world seem to be slowing; though the one alteration that's immediately obvious is a major one, it seems that things may be beginning to stagnate again. Will there be a slip back into apathy again, if this continues? Or will the changes you've affected already continue to hold? Only time will tell, really. That doesn't mean that nothing has changed, however - thankfully enough, the slugs seem to be settling. Or...well, more accurately, once in a while they stop huffing at each other long enough to drive up piles of snow with their heads and stare at them like they're trying to work out what they're attempting to create, but at least it's a collaborative effort. Are they attempting diplomacy? It's difficult to tell; after all, they are just slugs. But at least there seems to be a little less open hostility. Improvement...? Perhaps. The local ghost Pokémon also seem to have taken an interest in you lately, though precisely...how is a little mixed. They don't seem overly mischievous or malicious - they seem about as odd as the rest of the wild Pokémon in the region - but they do seem more inherently trusting of you and your traveling group. They've taken to following you from time to time, and taking a general vague interest in what you're doing. So that's...new. ...Is this a poor time to admit I find Earth a strange and simplistic label for a planet?

We're basically trying to spearhead a revolution anyway, you know. Could throw just a little dash of communism in there.

Yeah, it's pretty non-specific. They named all the other planets in the system after ancient gods, and then theirs is just...the dirt rock.

What's yours called, again?

Oh, I wasn't worried about that. I'm something of a painfully strict individual; you can ask Noctis if you don't believe me. I wasn't about to allow anyone to fall behind.

That is true. A fight at sea wouldn't be the most ideal, but as long as we're equipped for it...

Glad to hear it isn't just me. Our world's called Eos; perhaps a bit simple in its own right, but it is what it is.

[He waves a hand irritably, holding the ball in the other.]

[...Camilla can't quite escape exactly what she wanted to ask him about, really, but...well, she can do something, at the very least.]

Do you mind too terribly if I join you?

[She wants to say something like "there's safety in numbers", and all, but she is worried it'd come off a little too...crass, considering that they're down another member. She's worried, too.]

[Sena frowns. He's seen this reality before. Weak teams, replaced with players from other clubs. Formerly strong teams, rendered weak because all their stronger players betrayed them, left for greener pastures. The Deimon Devil Bats themselves, just barely hanging on to the teams that streak far beyond them, only held together by Hiruma's leadership and their own guts.

It makes his answer all the more certain, and it comes without hesitation.]

I'd still play with them.

[He sounds so certain...]

Is it a lot of complicated stuff you need to deal with? Or is it something that you can sort of solve just by being there to tell people to fall in line and all that?

[ ...Ventus might think Ignis is the type of guy to do that, apparently. ]

A little of both, perhaps. I'd say it leans more toward the former.

Pokemon Center;

What's going on with it?

[ He's kind of curious, and he thinks it'd be unfortunate if it was...without the thing they can't take a group picture!

Shh, he's got great priorities. ]

It's true. Not a lot of interesting people go in the other -

[He muffles a sneeze in his handkerchief.]

- direction. Ugh, I really should have just tortured people with mucus.

[Nah, that's cool. Jane Doe will loom over you with her new Haunter form.]

We don't experience actual torture, for the most part, but it's still helpful to have that personal understanding of how the human body responds to pain. Sure, someone can tell you that humans hate having their genitals smashed, but you'll never really get having vulnerable fleshy bits 'til you do.

[ventulus]

Yeah, I guess it was just kind of a coincidence.

[ Well, that was a bust. He pats Aether on the head as he drifts closer to Ventus. ]

I know! How about we check out the Gym next? She could've wandered over to there, maybe?

I'd say we should actually join in, but it looks like someone's got you kind of stuck in one place?

[ He'll grin, putting his hands behind his head as he looks between the both of them and the snowball fight. ]

[ventulus]

I think that's definitely a good idea.

[ ... But he's definitely not a Pokemon battling type of person (he just feels weird about making his partners fight, okay.) So, he'll just stick around to listen in to what people are saying and all that good jazz. ]

God, that would be the worst. Just one persistent fucking sinus headache. Neverending dripping. I'd almost take snorting fire ants.

[Camilla and Altena both perk up a bit when Ventus speaks up, the Glameow just kinda regarding him, but Camilla giving him a small wave and...a smile hidden beneath all of the bundling.]

Hello, Ventus! That's my sweet Altena; I don't like to disturb her too much when she gets comfortable. Though I'm...not altogether certain why she's decided that this is the perfect time to do so...

[maybe it's because you need to Not for once, Camilla, you sound like shit--]

Perhaps it would tip the odds a little more in their favor, though...the ghosts are quite coordinated.

[Look at all those snowballs flying about. Look at just how these guys are getting owned. It's kind of hilarious?]

A...ah...I guess I should say it too, since everyone else is...

[He grins sheepishly.]

My team specializes in speed and footwork...we use Double Team and pass routes to launch attacks from different angles. I guess that makes us good at dodging attacks, too? But other than Monta, we don't really have a lot of strength or variety in our attacks...

[Vee and Nin can only scratch or bite, pretty much. At least Monta can set things on fire and punch fast after evolving.]

Absolutely.

Oh. Well, I hope it all gets settled too.

[ He'll just take a bite out of the sweet now. ]
