Week 15.
WEEK 15 The past week has been a difficult one, and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier; for the time being it seems the world is stagnating. This much lack of change isn't normal, at least not compared to the first time you've arrived; there are only two possible conclusions to be drawn - either Cyrus has finally succeeded in what he's been trying to accomplish, or some sort of drastic action is going to need to be taken before this world can even begin to be saved. That doesn't mean you have no potential resources, however; outside of a bit of a setback that will hit your group on Sunday morning, the departure toward Iron Island is a reasonably smooth one. Granted, it's a bit odd given that the sailor taking you out there is just as startlingly blank as the rest, but at least he seems to know where you're trying to go, it appears to have been discussed with him in advance, and getting you there is possible. The trip out there by boat will take half of Sunday; hopefully you enjoy being on the open ocean for that long. But eventually a rocky island will fade into your field of view on the horizon, and when you're allowed off the boat it'll become clear rather quickly that the island is very, very large. And with so many massive caverns to go through, it will soon become very obvious that this isn't just going to be a day trip. Finding Riley looks to be a fairly difficult task, but it isn't impossible; furthermore, there may be reasons for hope to be found in the abandoned mines of Iron Island. There are a few people here, and while they seem a little strange still, they also seem to have their spirits a bit more intact than those on the mainland; talking to them will reveal the same difficulties and conversational problems that the other citizens of Sinnoh were experiencing for a while, but they aren't nearly as blank as they used to be... POKEMON AVAILABLE: IN CAVES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week fifteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend.] |

[He does not seem offended in the slightest to have this compared to magic? He's not going to insist that it's a science or anything, it just is what it is.]
A long time ago, all people were capable of it. It's a dying art nowadays.
[...]
For varying reasons, some more obvious than most.
[Thanks, Cyrus.]

After hearing Riley's explanation to Michael about the power, he can't help but frown. ...frown deeper, at least. Resting lineface and all that. This seems like a wonderful ability to have for countering Cyrus' effects, and yet...]
Not hard to see how it's gotten more complicated.
[...but it gets him thinking. Riley seems okay from what he can tell, even though the reset has happened.]
Does it allow you to protect yourself from all of this?

[Judgement causes a serious disturbance in the metaphorical Force, put it that way.]
My reach isn't strong enough to spare everyone in the mine, much less the area. But I do what I can.

[It definitely explains the state of the people they've come across on the island. So that's another way to deal with this...]
Nice to see another wrench in Cyrus' design.

[Hence, the discussion of trying to get into contact with Darkrai and Cresselia.]
That said, the feeling is mutual. You're one of the few we've run into who is more or less on the same page as us.

How is Cynthia, incidentally? I'm surprised to hear that you know her.

[It's still kind of refreshing to have found others with the faculties to be actively (and proudly) Done with Cyrus' shit.]
She was the first person that we encountered after escaping Team Galactic. [That in itself is a story, he's sure.] As for her current status, she still has her spirit like us. She was working with an Elite Four member when we last spoke.

"Around" about sums it up.
[There is no putting this gently.]

Not doing well, I take it.

Cynthia believes the effects have hit the Elite Four particularly hard.

[Like, everything's a mess out there.]
no subject
[So, a hot mess as opposed to a regular mess?]

...I'll have to see him for myself, then. Assuming they're still in Canalave. I'll come with you when you leave, after we've made contact with Cresselia and Darkrai.
[He normally wouldn't, he avoids the mainland nowadays, but that is Alarming? That's Alarming.]

Sounds like a good idea, and I think Cynthia would appreciate it. [Everyone has their opinions about Cynthia- Eustace has remained pretty neutral. He doesn't see her as bad at any rate, so he'd like to see if Riley can help her friend. Getting an Elite Four member back would probably be really helpful, too... That aside:] You think working on him directly with Aura would help?
no subject
[...Like, no promises, but maybe.]

Trying's what we're best at, so that works for me.
