Week 16.

WEEK 16

The world continues to stagnate.

It's an undeniable truth, one that's more or less a constant in your lives; you can see it in the people and the Pokémon both, even after you arrive in Oreburgh City. The same blank stares and behind-the-eyes deadness that Cyrus' new world brought with it are everywhere, difficult to ignore and impossible to escape. However little the people are interested in you, however, they are still present, and with Darkrai and Cresselia having agreed to help you, that has to count for something; with both dream deities and the Lake Guardians, perhaps hope hasn't faded - perhaps spirit can still be restored to the world, as long as there's a world left to restore it to.

That isn't to say, however, that the city itself holds nothing for you; there's a fair amount to see here, and a few things to explore if you're so inclined to do so; the mines in particular are open to the south, and extends far beneath the region. Take care not get lost, should you venture in.

CURRENT LOCATION: OREBURGH CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES
SURROUNDING ROUTES: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS / CAVES

...

Do you think they will, though? Surely these existed before humanity, if they're like actual fossilized creatures...

[Oh. Good...good point, Kayneth, Kiryu is silent for a moment]

Even if they don't understand humans surely whoever revived them would have some way to keep the calm.

[He sure hopes, because it must be frightening to be revived like seven million years into the future]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

Well, I suppose sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable enough from magic for that to be a possibility.

That or it's a clone rather than the original creature.

...tell me you don't have magic that can duplicate a living being.

[It took him so long to accept advanced technology could do so much in this world. It'll take him ages to accept magic]

Define "living." But then again, there have been clones of frogs and carp... they're just born the usual way instead of being a duplicate that's ready to go the second you do... whatever it is they do.

[Weird!]

...this almost makes me want see by myself how this is supposed to be like.

[But he has no fossils, and it's not like there's any lying around here, so...yeah. That'll have to be up to his imagination.

Also, he has a full team]

I have to wonder how common fossils are in those coal mines, since... well, it would make sense if they've been finding a lot of them there. That's usually where they crop up in the first place, and considering this is in the coal mining museum...

Aren't fossils supposed to be found deep in the earth and not in mines? Mining would destroy them.

[Because explosions and digging. Educate him, professor Kayneth!]

It's not the most optimal place to find fossils, but... well, mining generally does go deep into the rock. I'd imagine if people started poking around in exhausted tunnels, they might find something in the walls that hadn't been destroyed by the mining.
