WEEK 16 The world continues to stagnate. It's an undeniable truth, one that's more or less a constant in your lives; you can see it in the people and the Pokémon both, even after you arrive in Oreburgh City. The same blank stares and behind-the-eyes deadness that Cyrus' new world brought with it are everywhere, difficult to ignore and impossible to escape. However little the people are interested in you, however, they are still present, and with Darkrai and Cresselia having agreed to help you, that has to count for something; with both dream deities and the Lake Guardians, perhaps hope hasn't faded - perhaps spirit can still be restored to the world, as long as there's a world left to restore it to. That isn't to say, however, that the city itself holds nothing for you; there's a fair amount to see here, and a few things to explore if you're so inclined to do so; the mines in particular are open to the south, and extends far beneath the region. Take care not get lost, should you venture in. [She stumbles to a stop, stares up at the rock display, and deflates.]

Or it's just another evolution, okay.

[See, the possibility of it being another evolution hasn't even crossed Sena's mind yet. Because look this completely different Pokemon just popped in here out of nowhere and it's holding up a bunch of rocks like it's planning to attack them any second now. So when he turns to Chelsea it's to give a hurried warning.]

W-W-Watch out!

[And then he's just dumbfounded.]

W-we gotta get outta - wh...

[What does evolution have to do with this.]

Wait up, Sena, calm down! You had an Abra, I remember, an' that's what they turn into! It was in the books. I mean, I might have trouble reading 'em sometimes, but they had a lot to say about native Pokémon species.

[Portus...what?!]

W-wait, so that's-?

[Can't be. He just evolved and came back like that??? Really? HOW.]

Yeah, he looks kinda similar, huh? Just stronger and having a spoon.

E-er...

[Well...at least you got him to stop panicking and actually try to get a closer look?]

I...guess...so?

[He's almost convinced.]

Yeah! Okay, he grew some facial hair, but I bet you would too if you didn't bring a razor out to the wilderness. At this rate, we're all gonna look like lumberjacks anyway.

Y-yeah, but all at once...?

[That's how evolution works, Sena!

Although, he does end up feeling his chin for stubble. Not a whit to be seen, unfortunately, he hasn't quite hit that stage of puberty yet despite being sixteen. Sorry, perpetual babyface.]
