Week 16.

WEEK 16

The world continues to stagnate.

It's an undeniable truth, one that's more or less a constant in your lives; you can see it in the people and the Pokémon both, even after you arrive in Oreburgh City. The same blank stares and behind-the-eyes deadness that Cyrus' new world brought with it are everywhere, difficult to ignore and impossible to escape. However little the people are interested in you, however, they are still present, and with Darkrai and Cresselia having agreed to help you, that has to count for something; with both dream deities and the Lake Guardians, perhaps hope hasn't faded - perhaps spirit can still be restored to the world, as long as there's a world left to restore it to.

That isn't to say, however, that the city itself holds nothing for you; there's a fair amount to see here, and a few things to explore if you're so inclined to do so; the mines in particular are open to the south, and extends far beneath the region. Take care not get lost, should you venture in.

CURRENT LOCATION: OREBURGH CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES
SURROUNDING ROUTES: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS / CAVES

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week sixteen of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

eudaimonikos: (ethics without principles)

[Michael giggles.]

Oh man, and she just totally looks and talks the same, too. That's great stuff.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-10-21 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
You know... it'd be a great idea for a movie or something, honestly. No one would guess her.
eudaimonikos: (ethics without principles)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-10-21 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Michael moves his hand like he's imagining a billboard.]

Pop idol by day, serial killer by night.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-10-27 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Surely that movie has to exist already, though, doesn't it?
eudaimonikos: (a boost over heaven's gate)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-10-27 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. But it'd be a sex thing, everything is with you all. This one is just about Aya being cute and murderous.
enjoymyatelier: zach. they're here. (migrane's a comin.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-03 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
...

I hate how right you are. It would definitely be some sort of heinous erotic thriller.
eudaimonikos: (critique of pure reason)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-04 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. You're all gross. 'Course, the grossest ones always do end up with us, so our sample's also kinda tainted.
enjoymyatelier: zach. they're here. (migrane's a comin.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-09 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
...

You know... that makes me not envy you at all.
eudaimonikos: (could you sneak me a wristband?)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-09 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you before?
enjoymyatelier: just once. (so if i win...)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-12 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
...

Well, the immortality could be worse. That's about it, though....
eudaimonikos: (an essay concerning human understanding)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's alright. [Michael shrugs.] I don't think about it much one way or the other. Just kinda how it is.

...I mean, actually, this part sucks. Hanging out with a bunch of actually alive mortals. It's so stressful!
enjoymyatelier: i am just done with this shit (ugh whatever)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-16 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's generally the issue everyone has with the idea of immortality when they think about the practical aspects of it. Everyone around you will inevitably die because they're not immortal, so... hopefully you don't have any worldly attachments.
eudaimonikos: (how good people make tough choices)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-17 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
This was never a problem when I was in the afterlife. Everybody there is either immortal or already dead. Honestly, if we were on my Earth, I wouldn't care at all - I'd be able to just go and get you afterwards.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-18 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that probably helps. I imagine you shuffle people around enough that you don't get horrendously bored with everyone too, right?
eudaimonikos: (as many times)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-18 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's rotations. You'll usually have the same general type of work, but not the same humans. Funny story - [or maybe it isn't but he's already started] - that was actually one of the things I wanted to do differently. I thought it would be fun to stick with the same group for a while, really just dig in there. Figured if I understood exactly how they ticked, I could make the torture worse.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-19 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that doesn't sound too bad. Though... I'd imagine it didn't really work out the way you intended.
eudaimonikos: (the difficulty of tolerance)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-19 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not exactly, no.

There were a few things wrong with it - I didn't actually get humans better than anybody else back then, I just thought I did because I was the only one trying. It's like how you all thought animals were basically organic machines for most of the time you were studying them.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-20 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see. Honestly, I'm not terribly surprised, given that higher existences have a marked tendency to underestimate lower ones regardless of the truth of the matter.
eudaimonikos: (the republic)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-21 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, basically. Only reason I ended up talking to them was 'cause all the other demons I knew turned on me and I needed some new co-conspirators.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-21 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's as good a reason as any, I suppose.
eudaimonikos: (tao te ching)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-22 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Kinda the only one there could've been. You don't start having conversations with roaches just for fun, do you? [shrug] But it worked out.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-24 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that's understandable. Honestly, I'll admit, I've been going through a less extreme version of that considering I've been spending so much time with people who aren't mages, so...
eudaimonikos: (one look from you)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-24 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Does that really make that much of a difference?
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-11-25 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
...well, I won't say that spending time with an actual demon hasn't put it into perspective a bit, but it's important to us. There's something of an inverse correlation between how many people know about magic and how powerful it is, so it's in our best interests to keep it secret.
eudaimonikos: (on the way to language)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-25 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
And that's a causal relationship?

[Like, more people knowing about it actually literally makes it weaker?]
