[The Galactic Building is certainly one of the odder places to spend some time at, but it seems to be what some have agreed to do. It'll be interesting, if nothing else; a place that originally served to remind them of how far they were from home, being a place they willingly stayed at? It was almost unthinkable, but here we are.
Once the ordeal is finished, Camilla and Ignis are once again off into the kitchen; a long day like this deserves some good meals to go along with it. The stuff they have to work with is certainly...interesting, if nothing else; hopefully nobody minds eating vegetarian tonight, because that seems to be what the menu is comprised of tonight. Hopefully nobody minds eating their vegetables!
Get some rest, everybody; it's been earned after all that's happened today.]

[Ignis tilted his head slightly, looking genuinely curious.]
I have one like that, though yours sounds significantly larger than Sonantis is.

[insomnia is literally just tokyo]
It's an interesting concept, presuming things like that were modeled after the Pokemon in this world.
no subject
[...Yeah.]
Certain Pokémon are more recent than others; they didn't start appearing until certain objects that they resemble came into use.

[i mean, what else can you say to that]
That's...hm. I'd say 'that makes no sense', but I'm fairly certain we've long since passed most understanding of 'sense' as I know it.
no subject
...If it makes you feel any better, I don't understand it either.

There's actually a lot we don't know about Pokémon in general, despite having lived with them all our lives. Even the legends about the ones we've captured are ancient and mostly out of human memory, save for the ones that were written down, and a lot of those are vague and don't mention a lot of important details. Some of them don't even mention the Pokémon they're talking about.
Though I suppose I can understand that - at the time they were written, it was likely a case of "What sort of idiot wouldn't know?"

Our legends are in a similar state of vague disarray--let me tell you, it makes research quite the troublesome affair.

[...Mm.]
...Before we did all of this, Master Cyrus spent a lot of time researching the legends and things like that. He made sure we did, too, so we would know what we were looking for and what we were dealing with, and how to handle them. Or...not handle them, in the case of the Lake Guardians.

I can't exactly fault his talent for preparation, at least.

[He will make himself shut up for a moment, though, more or less. Just...give him a second.]
Rey asked me if I missed him earlier, and I suppose I do. I meant what I said, though, about not wanting to make any rash decisions, and that includes whether I return to him or not.

...But I think it's a good idea, to give the matter consideration first.

...I didn't know what he wanted to do at first, you know.
[He's quiet for a moment once that's out there, just kind of petting his fucking eldritch bell for a while like it matters.]
I knew he wanted to create a new world, without suffering and pain. Eternal peace and all. I knew that much. But I was under the impression that a lot of it was metaphor, and I was never informed of the fact that the world would be like this when we were done with it. With all spirit and emotion gone.

I don't think the ideal itself is wrong. I believe that Cyrus' intentions are ultimately 'good' from his own perspective--that is to say, it truly seems what he does isn't out of malice or cruelty, but a genuine desire to protect this world.
[...]
Once you knew the cost of what you set out to do...you were in too deep to turn back. Is that right?

[It's perhaps surprisingly light, there's almost a laugh behind it, though it does seem to be another of those odd reactions that happens because, well, what the hell else do you do.]
What was I supposed to do, after we succeeded and the world ended? Voice dissent about it? There's something about watching your boss remake the world that makes you a little hesitant to do that, and something worse about knowing that for some reason, he spared you.

...You don't have to believe me when I say this. But I think I understand better than either of us likely wish I did.

Even if-...even knowing the price of saving our world is the one thing I don't wish to sacrifice, it was what he wanted. So there was simply nothing I could do but move forward, never looking back.
[Ignis sighed, pressing a hand to his head.]
I seem to be doing far too much looking back, lately.

If I hold one regret in my lifetime, it is only that I did not do more to prevent that sacrifice and seek another path to be sure that nothing else needed be lost to achieve the same ideal.

I understand, I think. I didn't really care for the outcome, but I can't really say I regret what I've done, either. Or what I've had done to me.
[Red Chain and all.]

But wrong as I find all of this and how genuinely concerned I am for your well-being...I admire the conviction.

I'm...trying to learn to lessen that, somewhat. It's hard to say how well I'm doing.
