Week 18.

WEEK 18 Hearthome City isn't the farthest distance away that you've traveled, but it seems that Saturn was right in telling you that it would be a good distance away from Veilstone; surrounded by forest and with the massive shadow of Mount Coronet spreading from the west, it manages to feel both massive and secluded. As usual, there's a good amount to look at, and more than enough to keep you busy; now that the flow of time has been restarted, it may feel almost like there's not enough hours in the day. Of course, that's not the only thing that's changed lately; despite the fact that there's been another one of those setbacks, it seems that overall, you've done something for the world. There's a lot more to be done, of course, but any signs of progress are good signs. Yeah... But at the same time, every time we think we're gonna die, we make it out somehow, usually just talking it out. Isn't that kinda fascinating in itself?

[He nods, expression still somber.]

It’s just... [Nnngh.] Talking has never been my style. I’m glad we have people who can do it, but it’s still frustrating in those situations.

I mean, we're all good at different things. Some people like battle strategy, like you! And I like vehicles and stuff, not that we've had any of those to use. Well, that and I'm pretty good at hitting up guys in bars. Did I tell you about the time we called in a favour from one of those and got 'im to take over the radio and TV broadcast? Maybe not the most above-ground thing to do, I'll admit, but it sure was helpful.

[...okay, he'll quirk a small smile at that. It's something to distract from feeling down about the lack of battles.]

Never would've expected that from you. What did you need the hijacking for?

The usual. Someone trying to kill us.

[She fishes Rolly out of the pond.]

Should've expected that. [He's being a little facetious there.] Sounds like you have a pretty dangerous job.

[He's not going to say he's curious...but that pretty much implies it, doesn't it.]

Yeah. Ever since I quit the force, I've been working with Angelica, a Federal inspector. She's trying to do the best she can to actually stop criminals instead of just do whatever they want. It's kind of amazing! But also we keep getting shot at.

[thunderwolf]

[Oh... That jogs his memory.]

We've talked about this before, haven't we. The Federation is corrupt but you're using its resources in your favor.

[If he's remembering that right. It was a while ago, back on the way to Snowpoint if he recalls correctly...]

Yeah, something like that. Angelica's got presidential authority.
