Week 18.

WEEK 18 Hearthome City isn't the farthest distance away that you've traveled, but it seems that Saturn was right in telling you that it would be a good distance away from Veilstone; surrounded by forest and with the massive shadow of Mount Coronet spreading from the west, it manages to feel both massive and secluded. As usual, there's a good amount to look at, and more than enough to keep you busy; now that the flow of time has been restarted, it may feel almost like there's not enough hours in the day. Of course, that's not the only thing that's changed lately; despite the fact that there's been another one of those setbacks, it seems that overall, you've done something for the world. There's a lot more to be done, of course, but any signs of progress are good signs. It's on the house. Doesn't feel like much of a con in your case, and that really just sucks all the fun out of it.

I'm surprised their divination methods don't involve calling on Dialga more. Seems like the obvious route.

Well, it does seem like their gods aren't really part of everyday life as ours are.

I mean, there haven't been temples or shrines in every city and town we've visited, which is a bit different from what I'm used to.

I don't really have a lot of insight into how that normally works. Think they have churches most places. Megachurches, sometimes. Huge building, hundreds and hundreds of people, just a big money-making scheme.

Ugh, don't lump everywhere in with the damned Americans. Unless they're popping up back home, too...

I'm from Hell! Those are the ones I know the most about!

[He shrugs totally unapologetically.]

Don't know why they wouldn't spread around more, it's obviously effective.

Well, the megachurches are mostly a Protestant thing, aren't they? Maybe the Catholics are having them assassinated if they get too close to their home turf.

Sounds like them. Their last pope was basically just - do you have Star Wars?

Oh, I meant it with certainty, but... yes, we do have Star Wars. What, was John Paul succeeded by that... large worm thing?

The Emperor, actually. From the prequels, he hasn't gone all wrinkly just yet.

Wait, they make prequels? Really?

[Michael clasps his hands together, pressing them over his mouth for a moment. ]

They're like sand. Rough, irritating, and they get everywhere.

You should, it's completely worth it.

Have to see if there's versions of it around here. Alan Rickman and David Bowie weren't involved, but if we've got them...

It will probably be different, though, since I can't imagine Pokemon not being involved on some level, even if they're fictional alien Pokemon.

Oh, there's a significant new alien character in the prequels! Extremely important, everyone loves him. He could be a Pokemon!

...I was thinking Chewbacca, actually, but... I'm really, really wondering, now...

Well, him too. But Jar-Jar Binks is really where the money is.
