Final.

CREATION.

It's the middle of the morning, when the summon finally comes.

It comes in the form of the Commanders seeming more formal than usual - there's something in their demeanor that's off, decidedly more stiff than usual, though not in a way that implies they're being controlled; it's just a matter of something happening, and they aren't altogether certain what to do with it, but they're here to bring you the general message that Master Cyrus is waiting for you.

They won't wish you luck, for obvious reasons; they will, however, come with you. If this is going to happen today, then they want to be present for it, and they'll accompany you to the top of that massive stairwell in the center of that area you first walked in on. There's a large set of double doors at the top; they've been locked until now, but at the moment they'll open easily at your touch.

There's really only one place to go from here.

The doors will lead you to a place that appears, for all intents and purposes, to be outside, though it's difficult to say exactly where; there's a chill in the air - this is, of course, a rather cold region, though it isn't as bad as it could be out here - and you seem to be incredibly high up, but the floor still seems solid beneath your feet as opposed to translucent, and there's a railing ringing the outside of the area you've been let out into. Like a balcony of sorts, though it's a massive one, more than enough to accommodate all of you.

It's incredibly simple, given that this is apparently where you're going to meet with someone who claimed the title of "god" for himself and hasn't looked back since.

Speaking of which, you aren't alone here; Cyrus is present, hands settled on that railing as he looks out over the region for a moment longer. He'll turn to greet you properly after a moment, however; there's a brief gesture to his Commanders - clearly instructing them to stay back near the door, out of the way but more than capable of overseeing what's going to ensue here - before he turns his attention to the group, folding his hands behind his back.

"You've come a long way since we first met... And longer still since your journey started. I'm sure you're aware that this isn't as it was in Sunyshore City - should we be required to turn this place into a battlefield, we will do so without hesitation, and despite your actions stemming from deep imperfection, we intend to act without mercy, if it comes to that.

"However, I'm sure you have many things you want to say at the moment... Were I opposed to hearing them, there would be little point in allowing you to come here in the first place. Speak your piece; do as you see fit. There's no sense in pretending that we don't all know why you're here."

[This feels very familiar.]

That's...fair..

[Atsushi runs a hand through the longer side of his hair.]

It just feels like we've reached an impasse, I guess. No matter what we say, we're not going to be changing minds here...and we can't see eye-to-eye with what you want, either.

I wouldn't say we have no course, moreso that our courses we have are...limited.

[They can talk as long as they want, but at some point they're going to be talking in circles and something will end up giving, as it usually does.]

But I don't think you would have allowed us the chance to speak to you if you didn't think we had something worthwhile to say.

[He might be stalling a small bit since he's not sure what to say, but the pun brigade seems to be in the same boat, so.]

[Atsushi has been listening to the others, and it seems like they've been trying to strike up conversations with Cyrus, so...maybe he'll try that too, instead of trying to just talk At him until the solution to all of this falls into his lap.]

I know that your main goal has been to fix the issues you see this region having. But...what made you decide to want to move on to other worlds after this one?

No...if anything, the world I'm from has more strife in it than many.

That's not what I'm trying to argue, because you're right about that. But since our group, all of us having come from different worlds not like this one, have been by and large far less affected by the influence you've had...doesn't that suggest that what you're planning might not work the same way in other worlds as it has here?

[mmmmmmmmmm]

It does seem like you should've gotten this one a little more in hand. Can't expand a project when the initial run keeps on failing.
eudaimonikos: (that's guided to you)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-30 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I've heard, you had to reset it a lot. Even before we got here. Seems like rebooting space and time is something you do if it looks like you're headed for failure. Go back, work out the kinks, try it again?

So not an outright failure, but not exactly successful. I dunno, expanding at that point just seems over-ambitious. You didn't even get rid of Cynthia - though I guess she wasn't hindering you much anyway at that point.
eudaimonikos: (and in the end if I don't)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-11-30 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really the point I was making.

[And you probably know that too, so.]

How are those plans standing now...? Seems like people from outside your world recover from your whole thing a lot faster than the locals.

...I can't lie, my world can be a shitty place. Especially if you saw where I was brought here from, specifically. That was a really bad sample, if you did, probably don't work on just that. But even the people who are supposed to care about humans - I can't say they don't, maybe they think they do. I don't think they actually know how.

Emmeryn's right. Sitting way up above everyone isn't a great way to fix things. People's problems aren't things you can just apply one giant solution to, like they're all the same. [...] Emmeryn's actually usually right.

Oh, that might be a bit much...

Wellll, I didn't say always.

[Beat.]

That's me.
divinedescendant: (will dissolve you will fall to the floor)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-12-01 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, but even then...

[that's about the follow-up she should have expected but it startles a chuckle out of her anyway]

Oh, but of course.

Wink.

[did he just say the word wink as he winked...]

[Atsushi shakes his head a little.]

I don't. I mean, it would have been a terrible idea for you to try something like that without testing it on people from different worlds, first. I'm mostly just wondering if you have a plan in place for what you're going to do if you're not able to..."fix" our worlds once you get to them.
