⚔ // stress in solitude
[Once Saturn had left, Ignis took a slow breath to steady himself before standing and speaking again.]
I think we have a fair amount of things to discuss, after that. But we'll also need to rest and recover here; We may be able to take it at Saturn's word that he won't alert Cyrus to us, but overstaying our welcome by more than a couple of days is unwise--that means we need to take advantage of this as much as we can.
[Strategy was easier. The words came naturally, and he was able to hold focus.]
If anyone needs me or wishes to assist, I'll be in the kitchen. I'm aware we just ate, but I presume we'll all be more comfortable if one of our own makes breakfast in the morning.

...You know, I actually hadn't considered that. It's a little rare to see the stars in Nohr to begin with, but you're right; I haven't been able to make out any of the constellations from home at all.
It...really emphasizes how far away we are.

[Camilla finds herself lying back down, a groan escaping her.]
We're in an unfamiliar place with so little control over anything regarding our situation. It might be a little better if the world wasn't so spiritless, but...it's almost demoralizing.
no subject
[because while he feels sympathy for Saturn now, he's still sort of pissed about not even being able to accomplish their one, minuscule goal of "go see a lake".]
It's definitely demoralizing.

It's like we're pawns, isn't it? Shoved from one way to another across the field, subject to the whims of everyone but ourselves. It's infuriating.

[He folds his hands behind his head, and turns to look sidelong at her.]
Not a fan of what happened in there, huh?

[Camilla seems to ponder for a moment whether she's actually going to say what's on her mind.
And then she just groans before speaking up again.]
Do you pity that man we saw in there?
no subject
[He sounds like it's a bit of a foreign concept, which...well.]
I don't...think that's it, no...
no subject
[...Okay, she bites back a little--demons are obviously different from humans in that department, at least, so maybe it won't be as rage inducing.]

[Alright, fine, he's got this.]
He reminds me of the way I was, not all that long ago. And I don't really like that. Doesn't say anything great about him either, I mean, come on. [Michael snorts.] But I don't think I should try to kill him. Because of that, and also because Chidi says murder is morally wrong to begin with. I think I could justify it with Cyrus, but not Saturn. Wish I could, it'd be a lot easier than this.
So...it's sort of an uncomfortable familiarity that makes me feel a little gross. Ignis said that feeling was just called "Saturn", which wasn't very helpful.

It's...not an inaccurate assessment, really, and she can't really find it in herself to chide too harshly.]
...Don't see too much of yourself in him. I've no doubts that if he's truly this devoted, he could be ordered to use such things to his advantage.
[It's. It's probably the nicest way of saying "for fuck's sake, stop sympathizing with him".]
But...no, I think that is understandable. His situation is a rather terrible one, where he's wound so tightly that he'll do anything he's told...it does complicate matters quite a bit.
Ignis may have a point, however. If it isn't empathy or sympathy, perhaps simply the cretin's name will do as a descriptor.
[...that's said a little bit lighter.]

[You're really not helping this whole identification thing by pointing out how terrible Saturn is. Michael isn't good, either.]
I think the best thing to do is just take him down quickly, when it comes to it. No talking, no debates. It's better for everyone. [Even Saturn. It's what he said he wanted.
Wait. Michael frowns, part of what he just said catching up with him.] If it comes to it. It's starting to seem like it will. I wouldn't stay to help with this if we found a way home tomorrow, but I'm beginning to think we'll need to go through Cyrus after all.
no subject
Well, perhaps I underestimated you a bit.
[Either way, though, Camilla nods in agreement with him.]
You'll receive no disagreement. He needs to be brought down swiftly, if not to respect his wishes, then to simply get him out of the picture so we can...
[...Ah. That just went down an unpleasant route. Camilla shakes it off.]
...It's highly likely that we will need to go through him. If this group has such a tight hold on the world at large, and Cynthia can't find a method for us...we'll have to carve it out ourselves. If we prove strong enough, of course.
no subject
[Sigh. Michael produces a Pokeball from his belt and starts tossing it up and down.]
We've got to get ourselves some strong dragons or something.
