⚔ // stress in solitude
[Once Saturn had left, Ignis took a slow breath to steady himself before standing and speaking again.]
I think we have a fair amount of things to discuss, after that. But we'll also need to rest and recover here; We may be able to take it at Saturn's word that he won't alert Cyrus to us, but overstaying our welcome by more than a couple of days is unwise--that means we need to take advantage of this as much as we can.
[Strategy was easier. The words came naturally, and he was able to hold focus.]
If anyone needs me or wishes to assist, I'll be in the kitchen. I'm aware we just ate, but I presume we'll all be more comfortable if one of our own makes breakfast in the morning.

... I suppose so. In that regard, I was blessed to have many friends who would be supportive of my research, and help me find the answers I sought. [ Even when he father didn't ]

I've never been the research sort, myself. I guess I could be if I wanted to, but it's never really been something I like doing.

[ It's just something that suits her. But she knows it isn't for everyone. She can barely imagine Link being that much of a nerd, for example. Let alone Revali or Daruk. ]
no subject
He wouldn't be surprised, either way.]
I've had a few things like that, at least. Escapes, not so much passions. Good things to have when everything's going to hell.

Link enjoyed cooking. ... I don't know if I can even say he was truly talented at it, he just enjoyed the experimentation.
no subject
So who's Link, exactly?
no subject
[ She smiles, clearly fond. Clearly nostalgic and honestly... she misses him. ]
He was the son of a long line of royal knights, and had been chosen by father to watch over me. And proved himself to be Hyrule's champion, later on.
no subject
[...okay he's gotta- ]
Is that actually his name?
no subject
[ Is that... weird... ]
no subject
Just wondering.
no subject
[ . . What is. . . . ]
Though - if we are in the realm of silly questions, I do have one for you.
no subject
Go right ahead.
no subject
Are... or rather, does everyone in your world have rounded ears?
no subject
...Yeah. Yeah, we do. We've got stories about people with the pointed ears, but they're usually another type of people altogether, not humans. Like...elves or Vulcans or something.
no subject
[ Oh wow. ]
No a single one of Hyrule's tribes have rounded ears, but it seems as if everyone else here does!
no subject
Like the Yiga and the Gerudo and stuff that you were talking about, they've all got that too?
no subject
no subject
We've just got humans and that's about it, as people go. The animals aren't aware enough to be considered people, and the monsters are...something else, but they aren't people either. So it's pretty cool hearing about stuff like that.
no subject
no subject
That's kind of what I'm talking about with the monsters, actually, like your Lizalfos and stuff - the J'avo and the Ubistvo can do the whole tools and weapons thing, and the Oko have some stupid-elaborate communication system? But they're not civilized people like humans are.
No ancient spirits or anything, though, and if there's a god out there we don't really have any proof of 'em.
no subject
Hyrule has ever been alive with ancient spirits and the lingering effects of the gods. It was, after all, founded by people working alongside the goddess Hylia.
[ ....! ]
Though there is evidence that some species may have predated that founding, such as Lynels.

Most people in my country believe in the same god Shirou does - they either follow the same system he does, or they do it a bit differently, but they're all worshiping the same deity.
no subject
[ . . . Still a weird name for a god if you ask her but that's what Shirou said. ]
no subject
No, no, the god itself is just called "God," usually. Sometimes "the Lord," usually just "God." They also believe in the son of God, who is...also God, somehow, I think that's how the Catholics do it. But anyway, the basic idea is that God had a son, Jesus, who came down from heaven and became a man to live with us for a while and teach us stuff, and the people in power didn't like that because he called them out on their hypocrisy and told them to stop being totally up themselves, and so the guys in power arranged to have him killed. Only he came back from the dead three days later and just kept on doing his teaching thing until he decided it was time to go back to heaven and leave us to figure ourselves out.
...Or something. Shirou could probably explain that a lot better.
[This has been the Gospel according to Jake.]
Anyway, the religion is Catholic; the other really big one where I'm from is Eastern Orthodox. Still believes in God and Jesus and stuff, just with different rituals and stuff.
no subject
Fascinating. ]
So the rituals and practices associated with that lord and Jesus have changed over time? No doubt then this happened thoughts of years ago? [ She does sound intrigued. Oh- actually ] And for it to be spread by directions - the legend of Jesus must be very wide spread, then!
