⚔ // stress in solitude

[Once Saturn had left, Ignis took a slow breath to steady himself before standing and speaking again.]

I think we have a fair amount of things to discuss, after that. But we'll also need to rest and recover here; We may be able to take it at Saturn's word that he won't alert Cyrus to us, but overstaying our welcome by more than a couple of days is unwise--that means we need to take advantage of this as much as we can.

[Strategy was easier. The words came naturally, and he was able to hold focus.]

If anyone needs me or wishes to assist, I'll be in the kitchen. I'm aware we just ate, but I presume we'll all be more comfortable if one of our own makes breakfast in the morning.

[ It's true, he had said his world seemed to be dominated by those viruses- the diseases that there weren't answers for. Scientists and researchers might be able to make more, right? ]

... I suppose so. In that regard, I was blessed to have many friends who would be supportive of my research, and help me find the answers I sought. [ Even when he father didn't ]

Good to hear it.

I've never been the research sort, myself. I guess I could be if I wanted to, but it's never really been something I like doing.
hyruglyphics: (or something like that)

To me, it was always both a passion and... I confess, a bit of an escape.

[ It's just something that suits her. But she knows it isn't for everyone. She can barely imagine Link being that much of a nerd, for example. Let alone Revali or Daruk. ]
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
[He...wonders, then, if it was like that for his dad, too - something he liked, something he could use to get away from the world for a while - or if it was just a means to an end.

He wouldn't be surprised, either way.]

I've had a few things like that, at least. Escapes, not so much passions. Good things to have when everything's going to hell.
hyruglyphics: (but will I fix all the)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ She smiles and, ]

Link enjoyed cooking. ... I don't know if I can even say he was truly talented at it, he just enjoyed the experimentation.
bloodspent: (03. you made a vow)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
[...who the fuck names their kid Link.]

So who's Link, exactly?
hyruglyphics: (or something like that)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
One of my dearest friends.

[ She smiles, clearly fond. Clearly nostalgic and honestly... she misses him. ]

He was the son of a long line of royal knights, and had been chosen by father to watch over me. And proved himself to be Hyrule's champion, later on.
bloodspent: (46. to wait around forever)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
So you've known him for a long time, it sounds like.

[...okay he's gotta- ]

Is that actually his name?
hyruglyphics: (for me!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
... Yes?

[ Is that... weird... ]
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
[...Hippies? Maybe Hyrule is kind of full of hippies, "Zelda" is also a little on the out-there side.]

Just wondering.
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yes his name is Link...

[ . . What is. . . . ]

Though - if we are in the realm of silly questions, I do have one for you.

[...Huh.]

Go right ahead.

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ Her cheeks flush to ask it, but . . . ]

Are... or rather, does everyone in your world have rounded ears?
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
[...oh my god, that's fucking precious, hang on- ]

...Yeah. Yeah, we do. We've got stories about people with the pointed ears, but they're usually another type of people altogether, not humans. Like...elves or Vulcans or something.
hyruglyphics: (HMMM)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Truly? It is the norm?

[ Oh wow. ]

No a single one of Hyrule's tribes have rounded ears, but it seems as if everyone else here does!
bloodspent: (03. you made a vow)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Tribes...]

Like the Yiga and the Gerudo and stuff that you were talking about, they've all got that too?
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Hylians, Gerudo, Sheikah, and Yiga all have pointed ears, similar to my own. The Rito similarly do, though it is often hidden beneath their feathers, and they are less pronounced as a result. Gorons simply have holes on the side of their heads, and are without true ears. And Zora have dangling, fin-like ears to match their frames.
bloodspent: (28. when you were there first)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
A bunch of you guys come from places like that, it looks like - where you've got other groups that can be considered people. I know Yuri's said that they've got this race of people, the Kritya, that have the ears like yours.

We've just got humans and that's about it, as people go. The animals aren't aware enough to be considered people, and the monsters are...something else, but they aren't people either. So it's pretty cool hearing about stuff like that.
hyruglyphics: (so like I'll get some better)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yuri has mentioned them to me... I should ask more about them. Hyrule has those tribes who are all people - and that first group I mentioned are sometimes collectively referred to as humans - as well as monsters and animals. The animals are... well, animals and as for monsters, while some such as Lizalfos and Bokoblins are capable of tools and weapons, you could not call them civilized peoples in the same way as those I mentioned. And then there are fairies, as well as other ancient spirits such as the dragons or koroks.
bloodspent: (26. i do not deserve)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh, hey.]

That's kind of what I'm talking about with the monsters, actually, like your Lizalfos and stuff - the J'avo and the Ubistvo can do the whole tools and weapons thing, and the Oko have some stupid-elaborate communication system? But they're not civilized people like humans are.

No ancient spirits or anything, though, and if there's a god out there we don't really have any proof of 'em.
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, fascinating! Someone else has monster races! Well, two, Yuri does as well. ]

Hyrule has ever been alive with ancient spirits and the lingering effects of the gods. It was, after all, founded by people working alongside the goddess Hylia.

[ ....! ]

Though there is evidence that some species may have predated that founding, such as Lynels.
bloodspent: (29. first you get hurt)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
God is kind of a matter of faith where I'm from - either you believe in God or you don't, but there's nothing that really proves that anything like that's out there, it's all just based on your personal thoughts on it.

Most people in my country believe in the same god Shirou does - they either follow the same system he does, or they do it a bit differently, but they're all worshiping the same deity.
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-18 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, your people are by and larger followers of that god, Catholic?

[ . . . Still a weird name for a god if you ask her but that's what Shirou said. ]
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-18 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[...oh no Zelda that's cute]

No, no, the god itself is just called "God," usually. Sometimes "the Lord," usually just "God." They also believe in the son of God, who is...also God, somehow, I think that's how the Catholics do it. But anyway, the basic idea is that God had a son, Jesus, who came down from heaven and became a man to live with us for a while and teach us stuff, and the people in power didn't like that because he called them out on their hypocrisy and told them to stop being totally up themselves, and so the guys in power arranged to have him killed. Only he came back from the dead three days later and just kept on doing his teaching thing until he decided it was time to go back to heaven and leave us to figure ourselves out.

...Or something. Shirou could probably explain that a lot better.

[This has been the Gospel according to Jake.]

Anyway, the religion is Catholic; the other really big one where I'm from is Eastern Orthodox. Still believes in God and Jesus and stuff, just with different rituals and stuff.
hyruglyphics: (or something like that)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-19 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh wow. She crosses her hands over her chest, that prayer position that she has fairly often. The princess listens intently, taking in the story of this god and Jesus, his son... who is also him? So reincarnation? That makes sense to her, actually. And he arranged to die in order to show people a better way...

Fascinating. ]

So the rituals and practices associated with that lord and Jesus have changed over time? No doubt then this happened thoughts of years ago? [ She does sound intrigued. Oh- actually ] And for it to be spread by directions - the legend of Jesus must be very wide spread, then!
