[ So like, that was all something, right? A confrontation with the souls of the damned, and then a battle with a former gym leader, and finally, a meeting with a god. Even as they plan to leave, the sky is dark with storm clouds. The day seems to conspire to create barriers for the group. But even so, to many it may seem as if the evening is a hopeful one.

One of the lake guardians has been restored and the group has completed - after a month - the initial task that Cynthia gave them. They found one of the gym leaders, and learned there were those who fought for this world (even if they did lose) and still can be broken free from the control. All in all, it's mixed, but the mood isn't necessarily unpleasant, despite the rolls of thunder overhead.

However, said rain and thunder does mean it ends up seeming more sound to camp here in the cave. It's not necessarily comfortable, but there are those those who can pitch a tent or two and others who can make fires. Some people might have food provisions, or are able to make more for the group with their existing supplies or forage.

Though that said, the most remarkable thing of the night is obviously going to be that strange pulse of ... something which comes over everyone. And then, of course, the sounds of these eggs hatching . . . ]

[Getting a giant cicada out of his is probably the most normal result so far. At least those normally come from eggs.]

It's known going through the same problems make you relate better to other people. That's what's going on with us.

[They have in common they're not from this world, they all have the same goal, they have the same level of experience with everything...it's hard not to turn into a small community all by themselves]

So many of us are coming here to watch the rain. Guess we all have a lot to think about, don't we?

[Today a lot of stuff happened, and Kiryu is still trying to understand it all. You don't see a deity everyday!]

I tried a fair amount when I was baking back at the resort. They're certainly different, but they aren't half bad.

Perhaps. At least one was very displeased upon having been awoken, so 'immediately concerning' isn't a bad way to put it.

In a sense. Ours had been asleep for some long ages--two thousand years or so, from my research.

I kinda thought they'd be beyond that. Y'know, so they could always be doing god things.

It's more to the tune of 'acting when the world at large is in peril', really. The age before they fell into slumber ended with a cataclysmic war between them, and those who remained slept to leave humanity to carry on until such time that the remnants of that war could be fully eradicated.

We've had wars and stuff, even awful ones. Crime's everywhere, almost everyone in power turned out to be corrupt. So I'm not saying you're the worst off or it's a competition or anything.

No, I wasn't implying anything of the sort. I'm sure things like that exist everywhere, even without the forces of the divine complicating matters.

D'you ever wonder what the world was like before it all happened?

A friend and I did some extensive historical research over the past decade, so I do know a small handful of things. But I can't say I thought much on what the ancient world resembled past that. My primary concern laid in the future, not the past.

Well, I can't say I was expecting there to be a Pokemon that was basically a small Tyrannosaurus Rex, but that makes about as much sense as anything else.

What's your world like?

Well, we have space travel, so there's tons of planets out there. My home was on Sandvil, though. It's kinda boring, a big desert where the only reason people ever come is to see the sonic towers repelling the giant sandworms. But I liked it enough. I thought I was happy there when I worked as a police detective, but, well, a lot of stuff happened.

I’d imagine so. To be immortal and realize that what you’re doing could get you killed - and what death means in the first place - it’s terrifying. Other way around seems better to me, but that’s just because I’m already here.

You’re not much more comprehensible. Even the people who think they’re benevolent towards you, back where I’m from, they don’t get you. Not sure I do either half the time, but at least I know I don’t.
