Eggterparty
[ So like, that was all something, right? A confrontation with the souls of the damned, and then a battle with a former gym leader, and finally, a meeting with a god. Even as they plan to leave, the sky is dark with storm clouds. The day seems to conspire to create barriers for the group. But even so, to many it may seem as if the evening is a hopeful one.
One of the lake guardians has been restored and the group has completed - after a month - the initial task that Cynthia gave them. They found one of the gym leaders, and learned there were those who fought for this world (even if they did lose) and still can be broken free from the control. All in all, it's mixed, but the mood isn't necessarily unpleasant, despite the rolls of thunder overhead.
However, said rain and thunder does mean it ends up seeming more sound to camp here in the cave. It's not necessarily comfortable, but there are those those who can pitch a tent or two and others who can make fires. Some people might have food provisions, or are able to make more for the group with their existing supplies or forage.
Though that said, the most remarkable thing of the night is obviously going to be that strange pulse of ... something which comes over everyone. And then, of course, the sounds of these eggs hatching . . . ]

[Later once the eggs had a chance to hatch, he'd sit a bit closer to the group in general, seeming back to normal or at least hiding things well. His usual three Pokemon were beside him was usual, and now there was a small new addition in his arms.]

She'll likely be busying herself helping to set up tents to start with, since she's gotten decent enough at it. But when she's done, Camilla's actually going to set up something for herself and all of her partners to sit on, though Haar seems to go back and forth between the very entrance of the cave and back to get some of the rain on itself before coming back in and settling on the ground. Altena is likely fast asleep, but Arion's just kind of sticking around his trainer and keeping his head close by so she can pet it. Just kind of...sitting idle, really.
It's later on that the egg on Camilla's lap that gets her attention when that pulse seems to happen, and she watches her little egg hatch into something...well, a little frightening looking, but if the way Camilla's cooing over it is any indication, it may as well be as cute as Azelf, holy shit.]

That's not to say she's alone, though; like all of the others, her egg has hatched and the result is currently sitting in her lap, staring out at the cloudy sky. Her trainer is still playing with the transmitter Maylene gave her, turning it over in her hands and running her finger along the non-existent seam in the metal body of the device. It's beautifully engineered, and she wants to be sure of its operation before morning tomorrow.
The group will be depending on her to get them to Eterna City in one piece, after all.
Just because she's isolated herself doesn't mean Rey will turn away conversation and company; feel free to come up and chat with her if the urge hits. Riolu and Golett are sleeping peacefully, one Pokemon on each side.

Eventually, he starts working on dinner which is... well, his "vegetable stew" since it's easy to prepare, and he has a lot of dried rice and beans.
It's not until later that his egg starts to hatch, revealing a... well... donkey.
It actually takes him nearly a full minute to approach the animal, petting it soothingly, but still looking a little alarmed, because donkeys don't hatch from eggs.]

Meeting a god...he's not sure how to feel about that. So he just won't think about it right now.
He'll take advantage of his decent energy levels to go about and help people set up tents and blankets in the driest, least rocky parts of the cave. Something about the close atmosphere in here, packed in together with the rain pounding away outside, makes it feel more intimate than their usual nights on the road. Besides, others have helped him set up camp before. That's a thing people do. When that's done, he'll take his share of the food and go sit by the cave mouth with Cat Janet and Quaver to watch the rain. It's interesting - having that just happen all by itself.
By the time the eggs start to hatch, he's luckily returned to his own little pile of bedding and is around to notice. He pulls it over and helps the little creature make its way out of the egg, eventually picking it up and out entirely so that he can plop it on his lap and start picking bits of shell out of its fur.]
Oh! You're like a little creepy doll... [Inspecting her, Michael puts his hand near what looks like a long ponytail, and it fucking opens up to reveal huge teeth because of course it does.
Michael stares for a second, then laughs. It is an ominous sound.]

Well, the fight today kind of verified how very dead they're all going to be if things escalate.
But he's trying really hard to not be overly negative anyway, even if positive things don't come easily to him; he can be found sitting near one of the walls, toward the back of the cave but not completely in darkness - somewhere that he can see the entrance and most of the cavern. He feels better if he can keep an eye on things, and at least it's relatively dry in here; he'll be there for a good amount of time, looking fairly lost in thought and once in a while talking to his Scraggy, who is currently parked in his lap and apparently content with not doing much in particular.
Of course, eventually that pulse will go off and the egg he got will hatch, and now there's shards of egg all the fuck over the inside of his bag and also a...thing, in there. A very lizardy thing. Jake picks it up curiously to get a better look at it, and after a long moment of staring all he really manages is- ]
Oh my god, your face.

She stays on the edge of the group, preferring to watch the rain. She can't get the image of the injured Azelf out of her head, and her imagination fills in the blanks as to how it got those injuries. The list of atrocities Galactic has committed is long in her mind, but this one hit her especially hard. The Empire committed similar unsavory acts in the name of preserving the nation, and she had been party to many of them. And despite it all, Mor Ardain is still dying.
She started this journey with the objective of stopping Team Galactic from doing to her world what they had done to this one, but the longer she's here, the less she's sure that she'll even have a home to return to. But she has to fight for the Empire's sake. It's her duty.
The egg hatches with little fanfare, and Morag finds herself with a very fluffy new companion. Torchic is the one that learns the hard way not to touch a Mareep's wool, since her attempt at nuzzling up to it ends with a brief static shock.]

Well, he wants to set up his tent first so he can fuss over his Pokemon. Like, yes, Maylene gave him Revives and he made sure to use those as quickly as possible, but he does want to look for any injuries that might be significant enough to warrant concern. It at least doesn't take him that long to verify that, at least... but he's a bit too wired to sleep still, so he ends up heading towards the mouth of the cave. He's not at any risk of getting wet, although... well, Velasquez kind of gently taps him on the shoulder, then points at his bowtie, then points out to the rain.]
Oh, I'm sure you've learned to take that off by yourself by now, haven't you?
[Velasquez shakes his head no.]
...well, alright... Just try to stay close to the mouth of the cave.
[ah, he can't help sounding a little fond, though. His mood slips into the contemplative as he watches the Frillish float around in the rain, as he sort of... comes down from the whole thing.
Of course, later, as he's sort of hit an adrenaline crash and just kind of wants to go to bed, he notices something weird going on with his backpack as he heads to his tent... something's kinda wiggling in there?
...]
Please don't hatch all over my spare clothes-

Later, he emerges from his quiet corner of the cave and can be found setting up camp. Rose is helping when applicable, using her long tendril claws to hold things in place as Eustace pitches his tent. He and Rose sit around the campfire after that, roasting some things on it for a meal.
When the pulse hits and Eustace's egg begins to hatch, well...it's quite the sight to behold. He hears the crack from in inside his bag, and quickly pulls it out for him and Rose to watch, setting it on the cave floor. He figured it might be some kind of bird or reptile since it's an egg, but something entirely different emerges.
Now, it's well established that Eustace is a pretty stoic guy. When he sees the little puppy though, he lets out a startled gasp.]
A...dog?
[How does a dog hatch from an egg. What.
But more importantly, it's a dog. He's going to get to care for a dog. Gently (and maybe even a little shakily), he reaches for the newborn pup. When he realizes it's not frightened (or...feeling much of anything unfortunately), he picks it up and cradles it a bit.]
...I'll take good care of you.
[His voice sounds gentler than anyone's probably ever heard it sound, and he's very sincere about it. Clearly, something about all of this has moved him. He'll be keeping Rose and the pup close the rest of the night.]

She'll be thankful for this later, that she had things unpacked from her bag to sort through, when her egg starts hatching. Immediately Rin sets aside her things with an excited squeal, scooching forward on her knees to see what creature might hatch from inside. What will it be??
When the egg's shell cracks and falls away, the head that's revealed is that of this little gremlin. To quote Little Red Riding Hood: my, what big eyes he has. For a moment Rin just stares. And the gremlin stares back, with a dull, chittering sound spilling past from those freakishly sharp little teeth. He's unblinking, and kind of creepy, and—]
I'm rich.
[That's a face only a trainer could love, and Rin loves him from the depths of her soul.
Obviously with all the eggs hatching, there's a lot of excitement going on in the cave, so perhaps it's not so strange that Rin can't sleep that night. Or who knows, maybe it is. They've all had a long day. Regardless though, late into the night she's nowhere near her tent, and can instead be found at the mouth of the cave, just... watching the rain.

Later at night, Yuri has his stuff set up, but he's not sleeping. He's moved to the entrance of the cave and he's looking outside, content to just sit on the ground with Roc and the newly-hatched sword. I guess since these are babies, we should try to play with them or do something to entertain them? Is that how it works?

Now that Zelda has gone and given them all a taste of what they're facing, he's starting to feel that same thrill of mixed fear and anticipation he'd felt the first time he'd faced down Shin. That knowledge that there were a whole league of opponents beyond his reach, and facing someone even farther beyond that when he'd barely taken his first fledgling steps...
This time, he won't run away. He's scratching out imaginary formations on the cave floor with a stick when the wave of...something... washes over them and he blinks, surprised at the sudden feeling of determination flooding him. He looks up, seeing Monta and Vee sitting next to him, then sets his expression in a determined frown.]
...We've got a long way to go.

I...h-huh, what? Th...
[It takes him more than a few minutes to get used to the fact that he's now the owner of a huge bug. But now he's gotten what he came for - a pet brush. He has a pet cat at home, after all, so it's not an uncommon sight to see him brushing Monta or Vee in the evenings. He's doing that now, actually - Vee in his lap, Monta perched on his head, and the new Nincada on his shoulder.
When Vee's turn is done with, he takes the Nincada off his shoulder...only to pause.]
...Wait...do I...how do I brush...? Do you even need to...what do I call you, anyway...
[The Nincada helpfully has no answers, instead staring blankly from Sena's arms.]
