Eggterparty
[ So like, that was all something, right? A confrontation with the souls of the damned, and then a battle with a former gym leader, and finally, a meeting with a god. Even as they plan to leave, the sky is dark with storm clouds. The day seems to conspire to create barriers for the group. But even so, to many it may seem as if the evening is a hopeful one.
One of the lake guardians has been restored and the group has completed - after a month - the initial task that Cynthia gave them. They found one of the gym leaders, and learned there were those who fought for this world (even if they did lose) and still can be broken free from the control. All in all, it's mixed, but the mood isn't necessarily unpleasant, despite the rolls of thunder overhead.
However, said rain and thunder does mean it ends up seeming more sound to camp here in the cave. It's not necessarily comfortable, but there are those those who can pitch a tent or two and others who can make fires. Some people might have food provisions, or are able to make more for the group with their existing supplies or forage.
Though that said, the most remarkable thing of the night is obviously going to be that strange pulse of ... something which comes over everyone. And then, of course, the sounds of these eggs hatching . . . ]

[So like. She kind of gets it. Though she purses her lips just a bit, though she's definitely a little lost.]
I take it that is not the source, then.

[ She hums a little bit, looking out to the sky. ]
Learning from failure itself is such an odd concept to me. I suppose even if I know how it makes sense, it does give me pause.

...]
Zelda. Sweetheart. Were you...expecting, if you had failed, for everything to fall to pieces...?
no subject
No. No. I was not. [ But she does make a fist at her side, and she looks to the rain again. Her tone isn't... it's not lost or anything, but it was abrupt. ] Truthfully, I - was afraid, but I did not think I could win, that was not my purpose. She, Saturn, everyone has said that combat is non-lethal here, and I even confirmed as such. [ To fall to pieces... ]
... And so cognitively, there could be no doubt that my loss in the battle is the most logical an ideal choice. From how she spoke with Kayneth, it might well have triggered something in her, and it seems it may well might have.
[ However... ]
Though I suppose... [ Thunder strikes, echoing into the cave. It cuts off what she was going to say, and she exhales before just admitting, ] ... That is different than my other failures.

She mends her look before it should become too noticeable. She did have a point, as much as the idea of what could have happened otherwise would have simply just. Been bad? Real bad.]
...Sweetheart...even so, that's...a rather bleak way of looking at it, don't you think?
[Of course, that bit about 'other failures' raises a few flags.]
...But what do you mean?
no subject
Oh, is it...? I had not thought of it as such, but perhaps it is.
[ She does notice something in Camilla, but maybe she just was being... well, maybe Zelda was just being too dire and unpleasant? She can't be sure. She looks to the horizon, thundering and raining as it is. Hmmm. ]
... I found it relieving, honestly. [ Mm ] From when I was quite young, my training had begun to fulfill my destiny. But what was demanded of me - to commune with the ancient spirits and gods, and to awaken the power to seal the darkness... they were ever silent to me. I had no ability in it at all.

...Camilla finds one of her hands going through a portion of Zelda's hair, idly, if she'll allow it, and running her fingers through it in what's attempting to be a comforting motion.]
...I can only imagine how crushing that must have felt. To work towards something for your life, only for it to all be for naught...
[She can't help but feel sorry for her.]

It haunted me every moment. [ . . . ] I wished for nothing more than to be of help to my people. But I... [ . . . ] I suppose, in the end, I was able to fulfill my role, and those memories are now mine to bear.
[ Zelda that doesn't explain anything? But all the same, she did jump a little at the affectionate motion but she accepts it, smiling softly to herself. It really did remind her of Urbosa...
Her eyes feel hot. Maybe she did want to cry? ]
It maybe simply be the contrast eating at me.
no subject
...Oh. Camilla's not entirely certain how to take that, really; she's said it before that some of the people she had known...they passed on, didn't they? Was that because of what she couldn't do?
Either way, Camilla listens. She'll even scoot in a little closer, honestly, and she's pretty close to wanting to give Zelda a hug.]
...You must hold a lot of pain in your heart.
[Camilla's words are incredibly soft, when she says that. She keeps her hand where it is, too, but...really, what else can she say to that? The poor girl's already been through so much...]
no subject
She said it to Link.
... The Hero of Hyrule, as Bucky reminded her, he must be so worried now.
She wishes she could have said even one more word to her father, but there was no helping that, was there? She had left them all to die. She exhales and leans into Camilla's touch a little more. She does, yes, but it's ... it's noting exceptional. ]
