Eggterparty

[ So like, that was all something, right? A confrontation with the souls of the damned, and then a battle with a former gym leader, and finally, a meeting with a god. Even as they plan to leave, the sky is dark with storm clouds. The day seems to conspire to create barriers for the group. But even so, to many it may seem as if the evening is a hopeful one.

One of the lake guardians has been restored and the group has completed - after a month - the initial task that Cynthia gave them. They found one of the gym leaders, and learned there were those who fought for this world (even if they did lose) and still can be broken free from the control. All in all, it's mixed, but the mood isn't necessarily unpleasant, despite the rolls of thunder overhead.

However, said rain and thunder does mean it ends up seeming more sound to camp here in the cave. It's not necessarily comfortable, but there are those those who can pitch a tent or two and others who can make fires. Some people might have food provisions, or are able to make more for the group with their existing supplies or forage.

Though that said, the most remarkable thing of the night is obviously going to be that strange pulse of ... something which comes over everyone. And then, of course, the sounds of these eggs hatching . . . ]

[Ignis had rather quickly withdrawn once things had settled down, sitting and half-hiding out in an isolated corner of the cavern with his head in his hands. It had been a long day, and the cap on it had only been a sucker punch added to everything else. He'd probably be there for a bit, just...trying to refocus. And trying to block out the sound of the rainstorm, because between that and all the ghosts screaming from earlier he was having a terrible time of things.]

[Later once the eggs had a chance to hatch, he'd sit a bit closer to the group in general, seeming back to normal or at least hiding things well. His usual three Pokemon were beside him was usual, and now there was a small new addition in his arms.]

[Well, today has definitely been an experience as far as Camilla's concerned. She's still not entirely sure how to feel about it, but honestly, now that Azelf was healed, it was nice to finally feel like they were tipping the scales in their own favor. They'd simply need to keep that up, and get stronger in the process.

She'll likely be busying herself helping to set up tents to start with, since she's gotten decent enough at it. But when she's done, Camilla's actually going to set up something for herself and all of her partners to sit on, though Haar seems to go back and forth between the very entrance of the cave and back to get some of the rain on itself before coming back in and settling on the ground. Altena is likely fast asleep, but Arion's just kind of sticking around his trainer and keeping his head close by so she can pet it. Just kind of...sitting idle, really.

It's later on that the egg on Camilla's lap that gets her attention when that pulse seems to happen, and she watches her little egg hatch into something...well, a little frightening looking, but if the way Camilla's cooing over it is any indication, it may as well be as cute as Azelf, holy shit.]

Ohhh, well, aren't you precious! Something as cute as you is going to grow up so big and strong, I'm sure of it! But right now I want to do nothing more than pat your little head and spoil you rotten!

[...God, she's going to basically be babytalking this thing all night, good god.]

[Chelsea has her whole team out, huddling in one spot with a blanket around them set up like a tent with sticks. Meringue has her hat back and Sunflower thoughtfully chews on some berries, and Chelsea herself has the hatchling rolling blankly in her lap.]

A Spheal, huh... bet you like the water more than we do.

[Later, she'll join the supper preparation with... a pack of granola bars and that jar of honey the Spiritomb didn't want.]

Y'know, now I miss Angelica and her whole crates of food.

[ Honestly, after everything, the normally impeccable Zelda is tired. Exhausted, even. She does have a lot of people that she wants to talk to, spend time with... and she does want to will herself to set up a tent, get a fire going, road mushrooms for everyone...? After all, she has some of the most experience camping? But ... well. She doesn't. Mostly because when she gets done with everything and sends Miphanus and Saber out of their balls to use the revives that Maylene gave her (waking them up!) she... well. Settles in for nap, curled up with Saber (who is just sort of ... laying here, somewhere between tired and hungry and possibly eating some of her spare food in her back) and Mipanus resting on the ground nearby.

Later on in the night, well. She wakes up! She does go up to the cave's entrance with Miphanus to watch the storm, looking pensive. So there is that option, but you know what happened next? Namely, the egg hatches and it reveals... Well, a rock. ]

[...Ignis, honey, you really aren't looking good over there. It takes a bit after Camilla helps setting up the tents, but before she settles down with her Pokemon in a more public part of the cave, he might hear footsteps coming over to him and stopping at least a little short.]

Ignis...? Are you quite alright?

[It was a second or two before Ignis answered; he didn't straighten up just yet, taking a slow breath to collect himself.]

...I'll be fine. It's just a headache.

[You know, like a liar.]

[It's been a long, intense day, and Rey quickly finds that she needs some time to just...process everything that has occurred; the Spiritomb, Maylene, her Lucario, Azelf, and all the new things they've learned. There's something peaceful about being inside the cavern with the rain pouring down outside, so she finds herself a place near the mouth so she can watch the rain - not too far from the main group, but just far enough so that she has a personal bubble of space.

That's not to say she's alone, though; like all of the others, her egg has hatched and the result is currently sitting in her lap, staring out at the cloudy sky. Her trainer is still playing with the transmitter Maylene gave her, turning it over in her hands and running her finger along the non-existent seam in the metal body of the device. It's beautifully engineered, and she wants to be sure of its operation before morning tomorrow.

The group will be depending on her to get them to Eterna City in one piece, after all.

Just because she's isolated herself doesn't mean Rey will turn away conversation and company; feel free to come up and chat with her if the urge hits. Riolu and Golett are sleeping peacefully, one Pokemon on each side.

...Golett may be snuggled up against Rey's leg, if you squint.]

Ignis...? Are you doing okay? Did you get hurt back there?

[ignis, friend, there isn't much to sniff out in this cave so the bullshit's gonna reek]

Oh, you'll get little disagreement after everything that has happened today.

[...She's gonna take a seat nearby on the ground.]

...But it doesn't seem like that's the sole thing, if I may.

Aww, it's adorable! So tiny... Oh, right! Rey, how's the transmitter?

No--it's nothing, I'm alright. All that noise just got to me a bit, I think.

It sure is... something, huh? It suits you! You guys look like you'll get along.

...It's alright.

[Ignis finally dropped hi hands from his hair, which between that and the rain was falling in his face now.]

I just-...it's been a difficult day.

[Camilla kind of walks over with her new baby Tyrunt following her footsteps, toddling along. Honestly, Rey and her group of companions look so peaceful together, it's actually really sweet? Like, insanely sweet.]

You all look very comfortable together...it's quite sweet, even if you consider their present states.

[Still...]

Are you nervous about tomorrow?

[Bucky feels exhausted, like he's been running for days, but he hasn't had to do anything like that in two years. There's too much at stake, and the idea that he is somehow one of the only people capable of saving the world is catching up with him, and part of him really would rather go look for the Spiritomb he'd somewhat befriended, because at least the non-deity Pokemon make some amount of sense to him.

Eventually, he starts working on dinner which is... well, his "vegetable stew" since it's easy to prepare, and he has a lot of dried rice and beans.

It's not until later that his egg starts to hatch, revealing a... well... donkey.

It actually takes him nearly a full minute to approach the animal, petting it soothingly, but still looking a little alarmed, because donkeys don't hatch from eggs.]

How can something that wasn't even born when this happened be affected?

Ah, it's really interesting. The user interface is really simple, but the tech...

If this little thing can really transport us across the land, it must be incredibly advanced.

[Still, it's not said in offense or anything; more like she's joking, because she knows it's definitely not a creature everyone will like, but she? Loves it.]

I believe we shall, yes. I suppose I'm the closest thing this little dear has to a mother, now...perhaps these eggs will be able to become closer with us because of how close we all were to them, hm?

[Rey offers Camilla a small smile as she walks over, being careful not to wake her sleeping Pokemon as she shifts slightly to greet her. The Cleffa just...keeps on staring at the sky, even though there are no starts to be seen.

...she's...trying.]

A little bit, but I think it should be fine. I'm fairly sure I've worked out how to use this thing.

[If Cyrus' soulless grunts can work out how to use it, so can she.]

Assuming everyone trusts me enough to let me transport us, anyway.

[...whoof. Yeah, that much seems to be obvious, and Camilla seems to take a bit more of a sympathetic tone at that.]

...Do you believe talking through it will help you? Or perhaps trying to put your mind elsewhere?

[She doesn't quite know what to offer in terms of like. Advice, but. She's trying? She's trying.]

Since you're blind, huh? Sorry. It was definitely a lot, especially with that stuff with the Spiritomb. Least we got Maylene to stand down, even if it was by Kayneth and Zel losing to her.

So, do you need an extra hand with that?

[ Bucky had showed him how it worked, so maybe he can help out too! ]

Yeah, probably! It's pretty sad, though. Being born with no feelings. How are we gonna know what a baby Pokémon needs if it isn't crying for it?

[...That sure is an interesting partner, there. Camilla's joined by her Wooper friend and Tyrunt toddling behind, Wooper kind of going past to get rained on. Camilla herself, however, goes to sit next to Zelda.]

You seem to have hatched a rather interesting partner, darling.

[Staaare.]

No kidding! We never had anything that small -- our only teleporters were fixed gates that took up a whole space station, huge ones, too.

Probably the same way a bunch of people who weren't even on this planet when it happened were. They must send out waves of it every so often.
