[ so that was a lot, especially since it was keith’s first time coming face-to-face with a commander. he knows everyone must be tired and emotionally drained, but they have a lot of things they need to talk about. things that can’t wait to be sorted out. he has to collect his thoughts first, though--he’s not sure how to feel about this exactly, but he knows he’s feeling a lot of things. keith needs time to process everything, and he goes off to be alone for a little while.

eventually, michael, kayneth, ignis, camilla, and bucky bring over some food for the gang. it’s a much needed meal, and maybe some people want to eat in peace. unfortunately, keith is keith, and he thinks now is the best time to have a discussion. ]

Look, I know I’m not in the best position to say this, especially after how I acted back there. But unless anyone has any better ideas, we need to go to that lake and see the Guardian. We have to try. If that’s part of the solution to saving these people and going back home, then there’s really no other option.

[ he’s saying this with a calm head this time. he’s frustrated, clearly, but he’s speaking firmly and with nowhere near the same aggression he held earlier, back when he wanted to attack jupiter.

he doesn’t believe that he can be the leader anyone needs him to be. not here, not back at home. but it’s not going to stop him from trying to do what he feels is right. ]

And if we need someone to scope it out before we act, then I’ll do it.

In Christian iconography, the Holy Trinity is represented as Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is usually represented as a dove. A Christian could look at an image of a dove and know that it represents a face of God.

An amalgamation would be more like... if you were to attempt to combine those separate images together into one being. It could represent just a single entity, or it could be an artistic combination of multiple deities of equal importance.

Yeah, it's a metaphor. Though if that's what it is, it's a really unsettling one.

It could also be some sort of... honoring of the gods, I guess. Like the Parthenon in Greece.

Yeah, sounds like it! They seem to be all over their legends here.

Why is there only one library in this entire country? It's pretty weird, and makes it hard to figure out information.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Maybe something happened in one of those wars or something.

Though right now, they'd probably tell you whatever they know.

[Which is the main reason Bucky wouldn't ask, bypassing people's comfort zones is a shitty thing to do.]

I hope the city with the library isn't far from here. I'd like to get my information in a way that isn't awful.

What kind of country only has one library, anyway? It's bizarre?

No kidding. It's messed up. You'd think even the little towns would have 'em.

I'm sure some of the locals have books on the subject, but that leads back into the problem about asking people anything.

Maybe it's not that bad if it's, like, common knowledge...? I dunno. I just keep thinking of how Angelica used to throw her weight around with that presidential authority she had if things got tough. It got pretty scary, pointing guns at people and all, but a whole heck of a lot of people were gonna die if we didn't get what we were looking for to stop it.

I figure a lot of it is common knowledge, to be honest. I still don't really want to go around asking people, not until they're able to decide what they want to talk about on their own.

Guess so. And no good way to solve it except trying to prepare for everything.

And that's hard to do, considering we know nothing about this place.

What do you figure Galactic was attacked by at the lake? The guardian's defense force, like the Spiritomb were?

Could be. I don't know what else there'd be around. Or at least I don't want to, but if she got attacked by a squad of assassins, she wouldn't've gotten high and mighty about guns, right?

[Even as she says that, she's looking at the floor, head now in her hands.]
