Week 8.

WEEK 8 Snowpoint City remains as cold and unforgiving as ever, through no fault of its residents. The city itself doesn't seem to see much change in the passing days; there's something you'll all become rather aware of on Sunday as the day goes on, and after so long with no incidents along those lines it's likely an unpleasant thing to deal with. There's also the fact that the changes to the world seem to be slowing; though the one alteration that's immediately obvious is a major one, it seems that things may be beginning to stagnate again. Will there be a slip back into apathy again, if this continues? Or will the changes you've affected already continue to hold? Only time will tell, really. That doesn't mean that nothing has changed, however - thankfully enough, the slugs seem to be settling. Or...well, more accurately, once in a while they stop huffing at each other long enough to drive up piles of snow with their heads and stare at them like they're trying to work out what they're attempting to create, but at least it's a collaborative effort. Are they attempting diplomacy? It's difficult to tell; after all, they are just slugs. But at least there seems to be a little less open hostility. Improvement...? Perhaps. The local ghost Pokémon also seem to have taken an interest in you lately, though precisely...how is a little mixed. They don't seem overly mischievous or malicious - they seem about as odd as the rest of the wild Pokémon in the region - but they do seem more inherently trusting of you and your traveling group. They've taken to following you from time to time, and taking a general vague interest in what you're doing. So that's...new. Ahh, of course. I haven't actually given any of my Pokemon nicknames, so sometimes I forget.

[What would she even call her Pokemon, anyway? Oh well, it was probably too late....]

Can Lemonade perform poison techniques, then?

Yeah, I taught her Toxic from one of those TMs in the mall way back when. Most of the other stuff she can do is Grass, so it's good to branch out with types.

There really is so much about Pokemon we don't know, isn't there? I feel like if I lived here for the rest of my life, I'd never work everything out.

Pokémon research must be a pretty big field of study, considering how important they are to everyone.

You know, I did read about a Pokemon professor called Rowan in my book. He was only mentioned briefly, but apparently he specialised in Pokemon evolution. There must be a lot of different sections in Pokemon research.

No kidding. There's so many ways one could evolve, for one! And some don't evolve at all, but how would you know?

Exactly. I'm lucky, though, in that my book covers Riolu and Cleffa's evolutions, so I know they'll eventually get there.

[Apart from that whole 'happiness' thing, but. details.]

I don't think Golett is ever going to evolve, though. Which is fine by me - I'm happy with it as it is.

How's your training been going? Other than the kiss thing.

Really well, actually. My Riolu is finally starting to seem interested in what we're doing.

[...'interested' may be a strong word, but it's something.]

What about you?

Decent, mostly. Lemonade sure doesn't like the cold, but neither do I, anyway. I just hope it's enough.

I don't think anyone - other than Ice-type Pokemon - genuinely like this weather.

[At least, she would hope not.]

Hopefully the next place we go is somewhat warmer.

Yeah, I hope. Is it like this all year long? Probably.
