with knowledge comes great responsibility
[What an absolute ordeal all of that was.
Today was certainly one hell of a day, that's for sure; they've managed to take care of another Guardian and gain it's trust (or at the very least, something resembling it), they managed to find Candice and manage to...well, maybe not get her back in a state that's altogether wanted, but ensure they managed to get her at least into a place where she could possibly regain herself. It will likely be a process, as such things are, but they've done their best, and they should have no regrets.
The center is definitely going to be a welcome reprieve for all of their suffering, at the very least. The Kompot is certainly more than enough to likely get everyone warmed back up and in a stable condition, along with the copious amount of blankets the locals have provided. They've got the time to rest and get ready for their next adventure.
Rest well, ye merry band of travelers. You've earned it.]

[She's...gonna join him, if he doesn't mind--not too close, because she'd rather not get one of the few sane people in the room sick...but...]
...Did the encounter with Uxie leave you on edge?
[yeah, she ain't buying that it's tiredness]

Were you disturbed by what they did?

I figured it was one or the other. [...] Her life is never going to be the same after that. She has people who will care for her and love her no matter what, but...it's such a cruel fate.

Gods are...very strange, I think. I've begun to realize that we simply don't possess the ability to comprehend much of what they do.

They don't think in any sense but for some so-called greater agenda, or for themselves, I've found. Uxie's actions may have been a result of fear, but...
[...They kind of had the empathy of a rock, lbr]

[Ignis paused, beginning to look tense as he lowered his voice just a bit.]
I don't honestly think most deities can consistently see mortals as more than resources.

...It really makes one feel uncomfortable with them, when we're all but cattle to them.
[like, suddenly the shit her father tells anankos might actually make sense jfc. she genuinely looks kind of disgusted]
I suppose that's to be expected when dealing with such creatures, but...I suppose there's not much that can be done, except to pray Candice can lead something of a normal life.

That would be a good idea. I imagine she won't have impressions of very many of us, but...it would be nice to see her progress. Who knows? She might manage to surprise all of us with such a thing, even if she becomes a different individual than the one they know.
[Beat.]
...I can't help but worry about what we're going to tell Maylene, however, if the subject should come up.
[She mentioned that to Michael, but. Lord help us all, do we just tell her that the girl Maylene knew is dead or what.]
