[What an absolute ordeal all of that was.

Today was certainly one hell of a day, that's for sure; they've managed to take care of another Guardian and gain it's trust (or at the very least, something resembling it), they managed to find Candice and manage to...well, maybe not get her back in a state that's altogether wanted, but ensure they managed to get her at least into a place where she could possibly regain herself. It will likely be a process, as such things are, but they've done their best, and they should have no regrets.

The center is definitely going to be a welcome reprieve for all of their suffering, at the very least. The Kompot is certainly more than enough to likely get everyone warmed back up and in a stable condition, along with the copious amount of blankets the locals have provided. They've got the time to rest and get ready for their next adventure.

Rest well, ye merry band of travelers. You've earned it.]

[ Ventus will then just nod -- he thinks that's a pretty good reason not to want to. Plus, there were other ways to help that doesn't require dealing with the Guardians straight up, he thinks. ]

...I get it. Uxie kind of said a lot of things that were really messed up.

Yeah. How're you doing, by the way? You okay?

[ There's a short pause, because Ventus is unsure how to answer the question. He...wishes he could say he was okay as enough people are feeling miserable, but after all of that how could he pretend everything was fine? ]

... I don't know. Between seeing all of those people and some of what she said, it was a lot to take in. There were some things that came up that reminded me of stuff back home, and I thought maybe those people and Pokemon could be saved. Even if I know that maybe it sounds a little stupid.

[ He had thought it was really possible, because in a fight back home he had managed to, so he didn't want to just give up on them. But, he did understand that they were too late. ]

Hey, come on. I don't think it sounds stupid.

[So, you know. At least there's that much? He does sound like he means it entirely, for what it's worth.]

Sometimes things remind me of stuff that happened back home, too, and it takes me a while to figure out or remember that things don't always work that way. I think it's good that you wanted to save 'em, considering where they came from.

[ Ventus played with his fingers for a bit before putting his hands back at his sides. If it could be avoided, he would always do his best to make sure people didn't die. ]

Even if they did bad things, I know that they didn't really have much of a choice, and they're still people too, so I didn't think twice about it.

[ ...And he kind of hopes they don't see something like that again. ]

I mean, it's a good way to look at it.

[Not one he's really able to subscribe to himself, but...]

It's not something a lot of us are used to doing, you know? I'm pretty sure you've noticed that a lot of us are kind of on the violent side.

Yeah...I know that it's mainly because other worlds work differently or there were experiences that made it hard not to be.

[ Ventus remembers talking to Camilla about how things are usually resolved at her world and then talking to Bucky about the stuff that happened there. And then hearing some of Jake's stories ...yeah.

Though he doesn't think it means they're bad or anything. ]

Back home, there was more fighting than talking when things escalated. But, originally fighting people didn't happen too much unless I was sparring with my friends. And even when that changed, it didn't get bad to the point where people got killed...even though it came close.

[ He'd be probably take that back if he knew Master Eraqus was dead, though. ]

...Kids like you should only be worried about spending time with your friends.

[It's something he's pretty firm about, really.]

I get that sometimes it doesn't work out that way. But that's how it's supposed to be, you're not supposed to be dealing with killing people, or fucked up shit like what's been going on here.

...I look after a bunch of kids, back home. I don't want them growing up like I did.

Maybe after all of this, it can work out better than it has before.

[ In a perfect world (or...worlds?) that's how he figure it would be. Though he imagined being a Keyblade Master wouldn't be easy, he never thought any of this would ever happened, or even anything that happened before it. ]

...You're a really good person, Jake. For looking out for so many people.

[ And he seems pretty responsible too. ]

I used to be a pretty terrible person, actually. So I'm still kinda working on being less...that. All of that.

[ He manages a smile of sorts -- he doesn't know what Jake did before he came here, but as far as he was concerned he's already done more than enough to not be anything terrible.

And nothing can change his mind. Everyone always deserved a second chance (or more, shh.) ]
