Week 12.

WEEK 12 For the time being, it would seem that you're back on the routes again. Route 202 is thankfully a simple one - it's straightforward as compared to the winding paths of Eterna Forest, with a clearly marked path surrounded by trees. The usual patches of tall grass are present here, though they can be avoided if you really want to stay clear of them; it's a fair easier walk than most of the routes you've traversed so far, and mercifully it's also a far shorter one. It seems August is being kind to you in that way; there's decidedly less walking required of you, which is likely not all that unwelcome after the frozen hellscape that constituted most of July. As before, the changes to the world are still present, particularly in your own Pokémon, are still occurring but seem to be slowing down a bit as the month continues on; a worrying trend, perhaps, but they haven't stopped altogether. That said, however, there's a change to the route that you may see from time to time - patches of those bright flowers in varying colors will show up along the routes themselves here and there. Perhaps a sign of gratitude from a friend you've helped out... By Tuesday morning you'll find yourself in Sandgem Town. It's very small, similar to Floaroma Town in size, and the town itself smells vividly of the saltwater of the ocean; the main points of interest seem to be the research lab and the beach to the south of town proper, though there are a few locals present as well. Your stay here shouldn't be long; you're actually very close to Lake Verity, and it won't take you long to reach it given how relatively simple and straightforward the routes here are. Thursday morning will see you on Route 201 - it's just as easy a walk as the previous route, if not easier, and if all goes well you should be able to find the lakefront by Friday evening... [ So like. When they arrive in Sandgem Town the first thing that stands out to Zelda is the fact that there is a Research Lab and as such her very first thing she does in town, pretty much before she even caches his breath is race towards it so she can look inside and explore it. So. She's off to investigate the research lab pretty much immediately. Oops. So that's going to be her bag until she's kicked out, particularly if there's anything there to read, things to play with, or people to talk to??? oops?

That said, that isn't necessarily interesting to all of her Pokemon. Oh, Miphanus is still there and all over it, but in particularly Saber the Lickitung is not here for that. It's boring. There's no food. And as such, if you want to come across the 5' pink dinosaur wandering the town, idly swinging its banana-lead-saber you totally can. Or a Pokemon can, if you want to talk them up. Just be warned that they're on the hunt for food. Be it in the windows of houses, small creatures, or fishing by the shoreline...

But then come evening, Zelda and her Pokemon will reunite. Specially, at the center (or just outside of it) Zelda will be looking through the various items that she took from the teacher back in Jubilife! Some of these are really interesting, and she's pouring through them will in the somewhat familiar position of her and four of her pokemon all in the center of the curled up Bosphoramus the Onix, who is serving as their protection from the cold while leaning in his big head in. Feel free to join them. ]

[Saber isn't the only one looking for food. Sunflower the Munchlax has wandered off and is sniffing the air (somehow) when he spots Saber. Rival. He glares a little and starts walking with purpose towards a house with a pie cooling in the windowsill.]

[ Oh what a delicious looking pie...

Sunflower will need to race the rocketing tongue of Saber!! That pie is within eight feet of her, she can totally snatch it with her tongue without getting closer than she is now. Booooing ]

[NO. Sunflower decides to combat this by bodychecking Saber's tongue like he's in the middle of a hockey game and holding on tight like a parasite. His food! His!]

[ . w o w okay if they're going to be like that then Saber will try to wrap them up in her tongue to tug them in to her! It can eat Sunflower, then!! ... Ignore that they probably weigh way too much for that. ]

[He's heavy as a rock and stands his ground, making a face. He's not food! He probably doesn't even taste good, but it's not like she has taste buds with all the garbage she licks anyway! Hmph.]

[ WoooooWW!! Fine she'll change tracks and use a Paralyzing Lick!!

...

It's a ghost type move so it does nothing. ]

[Grooooooooss. Sunflower shakes his fur off, lets go of Saber's tongue, and stomps over to lick HER, see how SHE likes it. He doesn't even know Lick, and even if he did, it would also do nothing, but still.

While they're arguing, the owner of the pie has taken it in and shut the window. Sorry, you two.]

[ Licking her feels natural! You guys are all weird for not licking things. In fact, that gets him a pat on the head with one of her stubby arms. Good work, Sunflower, you showed dignity in one small thing. ]

[He pouts and deflates a little. Nooo, he's cool, he's not gross like you. Why do you even try to eat non-food things, he's tried when he gets hungry enough but it all tastes bad.]

[ Small one, there is a lesson here...

All things, are food. ]

[How. He tried eating one of those flowers on the path, right there! It tasted like plant!]

[ . . . But plants are good, berried and mushrooms are plant? ]

[That's true... Why is this so complicated, there should just be food and not-food.]

[ And that is why all is food. ]

[How does Saber not get sick? Sunflower makes a face and curiously looks around. Where else is there something that tastes good and isn't just a symptom of Saber's case of pica?]

[ What is this sick you speak of.

... Is that like when you have spicy food that stuff is less good.

... But yeah, let's find some better tasting stuff, someone else must've eaten the pie. ]

[Spicy is okay with him, he just doesn't like sweet stuff. But right now he's just hungry for anything. -- REAL FOOD. Not grass or people. Maybe there's a store, but stuff there costs money and their trainers have all that stuff.]

[ . . . Wait, hold on.

Hold on.

Saber wraps the tongue into it's mouth again and with its maw closed it sort of wiggles around in there for a while until finally it opens it's mouth wide to "burb" - and as it burbs, it spews out about 500 Poke-yen. And half a plate? And a pinecone. ]

[Stare... and flail. How does she live like this, that is gross, how do you even digest that?]

[ Well obviously she didn't digest those. ]

[Saber, you are really gross. Fiiine, then, let's just go look for more change on the ground.]

[ be sure to collect that 500 there!! She can only barely reach down her little arms. But okay, yeah, sure. Let's go find something else here and also stop calling her gross? Rude? ]

[...Is there anything worse than discovering that dreamwidth malfunctioned while you thought you sent a tag, oh my god.

[ Probably replying to this right before we get into the weekend event like an idiot???

Either way, first things first she's knocking and seeing if there are people in here, Pokemon or humans. If not though, let's see what books are around. Books are good. ]
