Week 12.
WEEK 12 For the time being, it would seem that you're back on the routes again. Route 202 is thankfully a simple one - it's straightforward as compared to the winding paths of Eterna Forest, with a clearly marked path surrounded by trees. The usual patches of tall grass are present here, though they can be avoided if you really want to stay clear of them; it's a fair easier walk than most of the routes you've traversed so far, and mercifully it's also a far shorter one. It seems August is being kind to you in that way; there's decidedly less walking required of you, which is likely not all that unwelcome after the frozen hellscape that constituted most of July. As before, the changes to the world are still present, particularly in your own Pokémon, are still occurring but seem to be slowing down a bit as the month continues on; a worrying trend, perhaps, but they haven't stopped altogether. That said, however, there's a change to the route that you may see from time to time - patches of those bright flowers in varying colors will show up along the routes themselves here and there. Perhaps a sign of gratitude from a friend you've helped out... By Tuesday morning you'll find yourself in Sandgem Town. It's very small, similar to Floaroma Town in size, and the town itself smells vividly of the saltwater of the ocean; the main points of interest seem to be the research lab and the beach to the south of town proper, though there are a few locals present as well. Your stay here shouldn't be long; you're actually very close to Lake Verity, and it won't take you long to reach it given how relatively simple and straightforward the routes here are. Thursday morning will see you on Route 201 - it's just as easy a walk as the previous route, if not easier, and if all goes well you should be able to find the lakefront by Friday evening... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES / NEAR WATER SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY [OOC: Welcome to week ten of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend.] |

Name Suggestions
What are you trying to name, Rin?

This hunk of scrap—

Fine, fine. You little...
[Hack, cough. Ooh, she'll get back at it later for that. Clearing her throat though, she looks back at Aya and forces a smile again.]
Anyways. As I was saying, the name would be for this Rotom here. I've had it with me for a while now, though I've only decided to keep it permanently a few days ago. "Hey, you" doesn't feel appropriate anymore, so I want to pick a proper name for it.

I almost want to tell you to name it Smokey, after seeing that.

Twisting the cap back on her drink, Rin tilts her head.]
Smokey, huh... Isn't that the name of a famous bear?
no subject
Is it - oh right, the forest fire bear. Hmm...
[She taps a finger against her chin.]
It’s part Electric type, right? Sparks, Buzz, Neon?

The Rotom smiles happily at the affection though, and even twirls about in the air to show how happy that makes it! Despite being one of the least cuddly looking of all Rin's pokemon (depending on which one's creepier between it and a Sableye), it's the most social.]
That's right.
[Rin affirms brightly, talking as she jots all three of those names down. And Smokey too, for good measure.]
Apparently no matter what form it takes, it always stays part electric-type, but its secondary typing can change. Right now, it's Electric and Grass.

There’s always the option of naming it after someone you know. My Raichu is named after a girl named Kokoro Tsurumaki, who it reminded me of when it was a little Pichu. It was small, cute, and Kokoro is a blonde so it seemed to fit. Same with the Fennekin that hatched from the egg I got back in Pastoria City. She’s named Chisato after my friend and band mate, Chisato Shirasagi.

I guess I could name it Shinji... [Looking at her Rotom, though, Rin can't find the heart to entertain the idea for long. She sighs.] But that name would be more of an insult to you than him, so probably not.
[Rin remembers Aya telling her something about her Raichu's namesake before, though, and props her chin against her hand.]
Does that mean all of your pokemon are named after friends of yours, Aya?
no subject
[She shakes her head.]
Not all of them, just those two. My others are Ichigo the Audino, Aoi the Marill, and Mochi the Munchlax. If I catch one more, I might name it after a friend. The other girls in Pastel*Palettes are Eve Wakamiya, Hina Hikawa, and Maya Yamato, so probably one of them.

Is that so, huh?
[Well, she wouldn't have been surprised if Aya new someone named Aoi, too. It's a common name. She'd wondered that for a while though.]
I take it that means if you did, you'd pick the name based on which girl the new Pokémon reminded you of.
[She grins and waves a hand over at the Rotom.]
I can't say this one reminds me of any friends or family I had back home, though, aside from that one person. Although I suppose I wouldn't have to, necessarily. Parents name their children in honor of others all the time, without even seeing their personalities.
