Week 12.

WEEK 12

For the time being, it would seem that you're back on the routes again.

Route 202 is thankfully a simple one - it's straightforward as compared to the winding paths of Eterna Forest, with a clearly marked path surrounded by trees. The usual patches of tall grass are present here, though they can be avoided if you really want to stay clear of them; it's a fair easier walk than most of the routes you've traversed so far, and mercifully it's also a far shorter one. It seems August is being kind to you in that way; there's decidedly less walking required of you, which is likely not all that unwelcome after the frozen hellscape that constituted most of July.

As before, the changes to the world are still present, particularly in your own Pokémon, are still occurring but seem to be slowing down a bit as the month continues on; a worrying trend, perhaps, but they haven't stopped altogether. That said, however, there's a change to the route that you may see from time to time - patches of those bright flowers in varying colors will show up along the routes themselves here and there. Perhaps a sign of gratitude from a friend you've helped out...

By Tuesday morning you'll find yourself in Sandgem Town. It's very small, similar to Floaroma Town in size, and the town itself smells vividly of the saltwater of the ocean; the main points of interest seem to be the research lab and the beach to the south of town proper, though there are a few locals present as well.

Your stay here shouldn't be long; you're actually very close to Lake Verity, and it won't take you long to reach it given how relatively simple and straightforward the routes here are. Thursday morning will see you on Route 201 - it's just as easy a walk as the previous route, if not easier, and if all goes well you should be able to find the lakefront by Friday evening...

eudaimonikos: (euthyphro)

Demons don't have children or pets. So I guess it doesn't really make a difference to me which it is. Kids are just like, pets with a few added steps, right?
divinedescendant: (with pins in your fingers)

Something like that, I suppose, as the very simplest explanation...

[like, she'd like to say no, but,]

Of course, cats will always be cats, but children grow up.
eudaimonikos: (please come through)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-24 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Like I said. Additional steps.

[..........]

I'll admit that I'm...a little more concerned about being responsible for small semi-people. You don't have to teach cats to be cats.
divinedescendant: (the picture peeled the person)

[She seems faintly amused, if anything.]

They've been learning from us. Not quite in the same way a child learns to grow up, of course, but we are the first examples of proper feeling they are seeing.
eudaimonikos: (that's guided to you)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-28 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Michael takes a second to mentally review the entirety of his life.]

Woo, that is not good!
divinedescendant: (they stole your shoes and brought you to)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-08-28 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[oh my god, michael]

Now, your team seems to be doing quite well for itself.
eudaimonikos: (one look from you)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-28 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
...Jane Doe is functional.
divinedescendant: (you are dancing with men)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-08-28 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
She's a marvelous helper. Quaver is charmingly inquisitive [an impressively nice way to spin that time he tried shoving his entire body into her backpack while michael watched] and Cat Janet's [what a name that is, those are some words she is saying aloud] energy is a gift to have here. Their independence is worth having pride in just as well.
eudaimonikos: (please come through)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-28 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
I...did not realize you were paying that much attention to my Pokemon.

[Not that he seems at all displeased at the compliment train, do go on]
divinedescendant: (they stole your shoes and brought you to)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-08-28 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I do try to be mindful of all the group's members—Excuse me if I have overstepped.
eudaimonikos: (a treatise of human nature)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-28 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, that's fine. I usually just take headcounts - though I haven't worried as much about that for a while.

[You know, since it's been a little bit now since people vanished.]

All I can do to keep track of my own Pokemon half the time, though.
divinedescendant: (a taut wire; her father's evil empire)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-08-28 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
As I said, their independence is worth having pride in. I love Duma dearly and I am so proud of how he has grown, but I would never for a moment let him wander about on his own.

[At the sound of his name, Duma squawks indignantly, and is quickly quieted by gentle head-pats.]

And they are all such charming characters; it would be hard not to notice them.
eudaimonikos: (and I'll tell you that I am fine)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-28 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well -

[Somehow despite having immediately launched into it, Michael still possesses the social grace to not actually finish the sentence with "Duma is an idiot".]

- probably for the best. I don't really know what's going to happen with them, when we're done here.
divinedescendant: (and the headaches will come)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-08-28 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[michael is completely correct but he's doing a great job not insulting emmeryn's awful dinosaur son to her face, thank you]

No, I suppose none of us do. [oof that is not super fun to think about for reasons besides "who else on this godforsaken planet is going to be willing to put up with duma"] But the locals have been kind to us, so, once the life has well and properly returned to them, I would like to think accommodations can be made for our companions. All we can do for now is hope and move forward, regardless.
eudaimonikos: (the difficulty of tolerance)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-08-30 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Some of you could probably bring them back. But I'd basically be killing them if I did that. Nothing but immortals or the dead back there. Maybe Jane could come, I don't know...
divinedescendant: (we will wait for the day)

[personal profile] divinedescendant 2018-09-01 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps... You would know the...rules, as it were, best, I suppose, but with what I know I would assume Jane would be well. You may be able send the others home with one of us, if you'd like to when the time comes.
eudaimonikos: (tao te ching)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-09-01 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
...that probably would be better, wouldn't it? There's a few locals who I like, but it's hard to say I know any of them well.
