Week 12.

WEEK 12 For the time being, it would seem that you're back on the routes again. Route 202 is thankfully a simple one - it's straightforward as compared to the winding paths of Eterna Forest, with a clearly marked path surrounded by trees. The usual patches of tall grass are present here, though they can be avoided if you really want to stay clear of them; it's a fair easier walk than most of the routes you've traversed so far, and mercifully it's also a far shorter one. It seems August is being kind to you in that way; there's decidedly less walking required of you, which is likely not all that unwelcome after the frozen hellscape that constituted most of July. As before, the changes to the world are still present, particularly in your own Pokémon, are still occurring but seem to be slowing down a bit as the month continues on; a worrying trend, perhaps, but they haven't stopped altogether. That said, however, there's a change to the route that you may see from time to time - patches of those bright flowers in varying colors will show up along the routes themselves here and there. Perhaps a sign of gratitude from a friend you've helped out... By Tuesday morning you'll find yourself in Sandgem Town. It's very small, similar to Floaroma Town in size, and the town itself smells vividly of the saltwater of the ocean; the main points of interest seem to be the research lab and the beach to the south of town proper, though there are a few locals present as well. Your stay here shouldn't be long; you're actually very close to Lake Verity, and it won't take you long to reach it given how relatively simple and straightforward the routes here are. Thursday morning will see you on Route 201 - it's just as easy a walk as the previous route, if not easier, and if all goes well you should be able to find the lakefront by Friday evening... Lickilicky - Saber smells something. It sees Michael out of the corner of its eye. And then .- out launches the tongue. A tongue that, if the dex can be believed, is like dozens of feet. The world record is 82 so Saber can maybe go a good twenty even now. ]

[Michael shrieks a little and scuttles backwards.]

Aaaaa, did it touch me?

[ Well Zelda didn't see him until now and she looks up to see the tongue above her head and then Michael a ways away and she blinks as Saber retracts it and - ]

Oh! ... Oh wow, it's a lot longer... - Sorry! I don't know?

[ If she did, that saliva is really sticky. And might irritate skin it touches directly a bit. ]

[That's unfortunate, because he sure is trying to scrub the spittle off his jacket with his sleeve and just sort of getting sticky stuff all over.]

How is it worse now?

Oh, has it taken on different properties?!

[ She's going to race over to him now, her green eyes wide with interest! ... Both Urbin and Saber... roll after her. It seems this is how we're moving. ]

[Michael watches the rolling in horror.]

Everything about this is disgusting.

Oh come now, Saber isn't that bad.

[ She huffs! ... And makes to try to help clean him off. As Saber (and Urbin) both stop rolling behind her. Urbin is mostly just there, but the now towering Saber...

Smirks. ]

[Michael stares back at the smirking monster.]

Have you seen her?

Yes, of course! She is a ... well, she is one of mine?

[ For now though she's going to try to collect some excess drool/saliva, if there is any on Michael, to see if she can't get it in a kerchief she's pulled out from her bag. She might wanna examine it! ]

[Here, get it off his sleeve...]

That is a creature born of nightmares. Bad enough that I have to deal with human fluids...

[ She will, and... she's also going to adopt a more scolding voice to say, ] Michael, she's right here! There is no need to insult her so!

[Michael looks up at Saber.]

Pretty sure she knows already.

[ She looks up at saber too...

Who smiles? And then sticks her tongue out, which Zelda puts out a hand to meet! ]

No, she's just another creature of this world!

Oh my god don't TOUCH it!

She can sense things better through her tongue than anything else! I'm merely meeting that!

[ Pet, pet the tongue. Her hand is getting so sticky... ]

[Michael covers his hand with a mouth to muffle his groans.]

Okay, I'm gonna go and hang out with my non-disgusting Pokemon now.

Saber doesn't look put out but Zelda pouts, at least, waving him goodbye with her free hand. ]
