Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [Thursday is a nice day, and as usual, Kiryu and his Pancham are minding their own business.

Department Store

Yep, he's back there again. He went in to look for information about Pancham. He had sent Daigo hunting and the results were...decent enough. Not perfect, but at least he's sure Daigo won't starve to death. But he's not sure what exactly this species should eat, so he went to search for information.

He got what seems to be a children's book. There's a Pancham on the cover, drawn with a cute style, and waving cheerfully. It seems to be no more than a story for children, and Kiryu's reading it carefully, in case there's information that could be of use. It's such a strange thing, seeing a grown and strong man like Kiryu reading a book for children with such attention...

Later he's at the gym, standing on a boxing ring and leaning on the ropes. Daigo is nearby, with a punching bag, giving it some rather unimpressive punches. Looks like a rather mechanical thing, there's no strength or energy behind the moves. It's depressing, really]

[From time to time Kiryu says something encouraging, although it sounds a bit forced. Maybe it's because it's like talking to a robot]

That explains a lot. I had never met a mercenary before, but that does sound like the kind of thing that'd force you to move a lot. You must have seen a lot of what your world has to offer, eh?

Forgive me, I should have been clearer... I cannot cast any magic without an appropriate stave or tome. Not having one makes me incapable of even trying to connect to my skills, unfortunately.

Hell yeah, I have. One of the best parts of the job, if you ask me. Some places are better than others, granted, but for the most part it's been good. Never really liked being tied down to one place, anyway.

Yeah. It's no good for me, I'm not going to be fighting, but some of you might find it interesting. I actually meant to take a few to give to people, but I got sidetracked with Liam.

Oh, I know! This is one of the songs that my friends' band sings. Rimi wrote it for her sister.

[Aya starts singing (I can't find a video of the full but it's on the wiki, I'm sorry!).]

[He's an athlete. And also did the Death March. And other various things that Hiruma and Doboroku have cooked up.

Training with Pokemon sounds like easy pickings compared to that. Or at least sounds like just another day on the Deimon football field.]

Martial arts are kinda like a sport, right? [I mean, they even used sumo wrestling to help train Komosumbi once. It's probably the same thing.] They probably at least have some, uh...basic excercises or conditioning in there that might be of use to all of us, if we all have to uh. Walk, and camp and stuff?

She keeps resisting but does ball a fist at her side now, holding some tension for a moment. ]

No, I don't think they do. But it does mean... that it's not absolute, perhaps.

[ He doesn't seem like he'd be an athletic guy by appearances, no, but he watches him leap down. ]

[ The blond leaps right in after him, because he is definitely not going to leave it all to Shirou here. ]

Oh, and we haven't really gotten a chance to exchange names, right? I'm Ventus, but you can call me Ven.

It's one of the ones the band I'm in learned not too long ago, Hanamaru Andante. It's a really fun one to sing.

It's funny, watching her sing like this, because this is so different than other entertainers she's seen. Still, her and her Beldum settle in to watch it, her crossing her arms in front of her and trying to understand the nature of the song as best she can. ]

I'd love to. I don't get to sew nearly as much as I'd like.

Well, who knows - maybe one day your friend there will want to learn how to do that stuff too. It looked like she was listening to you, anyway.

[ Ventus grins as they joke around a bit and then, well...his hands fall to his sides as he appears to be in thought about that. ]

I came from a nice place called The Land of Depature, where I had people who helped me lot. Two of those people are my best friends, and trouble wasn't a usual thing back home.

And then, some things happened, and even before we were brought here I knew it'd be a long time before I'd be able to return home. [ He looks back over at her. ] I don't know if I'll still be able to, but I'd like to, along with my friends who I know are waiting for me to come back someday.

It's the same for you, right? You have people waiting for you back home.
