Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. I’m sure she did, but she’s only one person and only has so much time, between dodging that jerk Cyrus and everything else. I think we’re in a position to dedicate a little more time to it.

Yes, and a place that's not too far out of reach either. We might need to encourage or give them hints so they can find it. [ Aka let's not put it in a tree. Hmm... this bush looks like a pretty good spot. ]

Do you think everyone back home is all right?

[ . . . She hangs her head a little, pulling her Beldum closer. She weighs her response and then says, ]

... I am confident that Link would not lose. So I am certain that - even if it has somehow been years, Hyrule is still defended.

[ But she can't like... promise for everyone. Per se. ]

Oh, er...it's kind of a long story...

[He scratches the back of his head.]

Basically, when I first started playing football, my team captain, he kind of forced me to play under a secret identity...it turned out later it wasn't something he made up, but an actual person - a football player who's considered to be the strongest runner of this era. S-so...my whole time playing football, I've been living a lie...

[Sena's sheepish grin slowly turns into a determined glare as he continues talking, staring off into the distance as he starts reflecting on everything that's happened so far.]

I decided...I want to make that lie into a reality. I want to become the real Eyeshield 21...and to do that, I have to find this player and win against him...I can't do that if I don't face off against tough battles, right?

[He's the exact opposite of a hulking brute, thank you. Although at this point he's not sure if this guy means that to be a good thing...]

I...know I don't look like the type of guy who'd normally play that kind of sport...

[There's a Pokeball-sound as he gets the Purrloin's ball back and lets it out again.]

I just got back from having her battle one of the other ones. Pretty underwhelming, to be honest.

The first one, yes. I've yet to think of what to call this little one. [The bell Pokemon sat quietly in his hand, only about six inches tall.] I don't know--I'd like to believe mere companionship can help, but the only way to find out is through the attempt.

Huh. I know there were a lot of different berries available, but I guess it would make sense that they wouldn't taste great to us, if they've been bred for the animals in this world.

Oh, really?

[Sena tilts his head.]

So wait, you're naming yours after your friends too?

[semistableman]

Sure!

We'll have to test out how how good they are.

That's a good way of looking at it. I'm sure we'll figure something out to help 'em.

Yeah. I'm hoping we'll work out a way to help 'em with that at some point. I have no idea how, but there's gotta be something we can do.

It doesn't. It's good to be prepared in case something bad does happen. I'm hoping our luck holds out for a little longer, at least.

You know how things go, the rice and beans take forever to cook, and you suddenly realize you haven't even started on anything else.

I hope you get one. It'd be great if there was some way to help these guys out so they aren't so...

[He waves a hand, probably to mean "apathetic" or "blank" or something.]

But it doesn't look like there's much we can really do for them right now.

You must be a pretty popular guy, if you're helping people out with this. I'm guessing it's something you enjoy doing?

No, you ... the flavor isn't bad, I simply can't decide what it is.

[Oh god, she's gotta rein in her reaction a bit when she sees the Purrloin--that's just too cute! Camilla is going to grab her measuring tape, though...]

Just a little blanket for my darling partner. What better way to bond with these little sweethearts than to give them something handmade? I thought it might be a good idea, though the materials were surprisingly hard to come by...

[Since discovering the gym and spending some time with Jake in it, Rey has quickly decided that it is her favourite place in the city (aside from the food aisle in the Department Store, which is amazing). She's an industrious person who likes to keep busy, so she's taken to spending some time in the gym after dinner, accompanied - as always - by Golett.

When she spots Camilla and her in the ring, she's not quite sure how to react, and instead chooses to watch silently for a little while, leaning against the ropes. Golett has assisted her with some of her training, but she'd never really focused it just on her Pokemon...

...hm.]

Are you having much luck? With their training, I mean.

Huh. I guess I wouldn't know how to deal with that, either.

Fighting spirit kind of goes hand in hand with having a personality, I guess. This is all really depressing.

Just the one word, "Golett". I've taken to calling it that - it doesn't seem to mind.
