Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [ How is being able to use magic not... relevant? Her's agape at the other for a moment, a shocking intake of breath as she tries to comprehend that. But more to the point, her peers? ]

[ No one had really seemed to recognize each other in that first room, had they...? ]

That's true. And they're supposed to like it, right? When they like things.

[He reaches down to pick up Monta, who doesn't really react to it.]

I hope we can figure out what they'd like soon...

[...okay now he's just giving Ven a weird look.]

[Oh, he's more than a decade ahead of her in that case.]

Geez, it sounds like a crazy one too. But it leads to one important question—

[And leaning forward with her arms draped over her knees, she clenches her fists in fake earnest.]

Did you invest in any big stocks when it was still the 1930s?

-Oh, I did not mean to cast doubt upon you, or upon your intentions! ... Rather just...

[ She exhales ]

For myself, I want to connect with this one more before I consider... anything else.

It didn't have the suspenders before, right?

[He'd seen Jake and his Scraggy around before them, and he's thinking back to that...]

Maybe it's used to having its hands busy.

[ What... that's...

Her cheeks color a little, and she looks a bit confused for a moment, but... ]

I... I thank you. I did not think my impression was such...

[Eustace listens carefully to Kayneth's response...and nods.]

Good thinking.

[Kayneth might be noisy, but Eustace's opinion of him is changing for the better already.]

Anything you want me to do before you test this out?

[Well, he won't say no to free things. Same difference.]

[...Oh. She realizes too late how that must have sounded; and really, thinking of it like that makes her recall the people she'd much rather have on her side. Rin closes her eyes, masking the strain behind them and her smile somewhat.

It's only been a few days, but she misses them. So much...]

That might be too generous of a term. It's complicated. I never met them until I woke up in that room, and each one of us remembers world events differently from the other. But there's enough in common that it's clear we come from the same world, even if there's a difference in timelines.

You didn't? Maybe it's because you're really serious about helping everybody!

[ Golem... ah, artificial guardians more like- she nods ]

Yes, similar to a golem, though infinitely more complex than the average talus.

[ She mulls over the question and... ]

If they are living things, I should think not...? But it may be possible there are simulated Pokemon?

[Sarcasm, of course.

Eustace makes his way over to the counter to peer at the discs behind it. If those people really meant "apply the TM directly to the Pokemon"...]

Something has to happen if you've chosen the correct TM and Pokemon. How else would you know it worked, short of calling the move afterword?

[That would work well enough...but some kind of visible confirmation beforehand would save the trouble of announcing all these moves for no reason if they're not going to work.]

Truthfully, nor have I. The closest I can say to have had is the horse which I rode around the lands of Hyrule.

[ But even if a horse is important, a mount and a companion, it's not... well, it's dissimilar than some small thing to look after like this, something like a partner. After all, a horse has a more stated purpose than her Beldum does. ]

I think it's the one that comes in a spray bottle.

[...right? Was it that one? There's so much medicine they need to keep track of, and they need to learn quickly. Kiryu makes a mental note to check that stuff again later]

[ She lowers her gaze a moment, but ends up nodding ]

... Perhaps so. It seems natural to me to do all I can to assist in our goals. And acting upon that feeling is all I've done.

[ ... The sad thing is even ignoring the Hyrule Historia she actually has a frame of reference for that ]

... Ah! So is it matter that you are apart in time, or - no, you said differences, so it is a matter of divergence. [ She nods ] ... How strange, that happened to three of us. [ Wow. ] Then... are all of you capable of magecraft?

[Raising her head again, Rin nods along at Zelda's conclusions. Divergence is the accurate one, yes.]

I believe so. Although... I can't say that for certain about Kotomine, actually.

[She takes another sip of her drink.]

That is correct—one winner would emerge victorious after the conflict between the sides is resolved. [ Wouldn't that be nice if everyone got a wish though (not). He looks to Rin with a slight tilt of his head, no apologies necessary, the smile on his face makes that clear. ]

Rin is correct as well, a Ruler was summoned for parity and to ensure matters did not break down further. Would that be the case that the war progressed smoothly after that, but...I am not overly surprised that a situation like this came about.

[ And by that he means this world and this place, which he indicates with a sweeping gesture. ]

Unfortunately I do not...but I wouldn't mind hearing about them, if you would like.

[ He looks more embarrassed about this than he should be for some reason. ]
