I don't think that's totally fair, and it's something I'd like to try and change, but if I'm honest, I don't think transparency is our real problem. There's plenty of perfectly decent people, never did anything really bad, who don't make the cut just for not being good enough. Never saved a life, or donated an organ, or any real big point-getters. But not everyone can do things like that.
Most of the humans who have ever died are being tortured forever right now, and the "good people" among us - [airquotes] - are just as responsible for that as the ones holding the pitchforks. Who are any of us to descend from on high and tell humanity how to behave? We don't need to tell humans about our system, we need to end it.
