Week 2.
WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!] |

camp
Sure, kid. I don't really have any stories or anything, but I don't see why not.

[ Ventus will pick up one of those sticks and hand it right over to him with a smile. He also remembers to put down a box of crackers too.
...Judging by the smile on his face, he's eager to share quite a few "campfire" stories. ]

[oh my god look at how excited this kid is, like hell if he's going to say no. ...also stick, stick is good.]

[ ... this is probably going to sound a tad silly, in other words.
He wants for a moment while Jake gets presumably settled (or not), before he begins as he picks up two marshmellows, handing one over too. ]
When I was a little younger, I heard about this castle that loomed over a nearby town. Nobody went near it because recently every single time anyone even so much as passed outside of it's gates, people were drawn in, and no one ever saw them again. But one day, one of the townspeople there lost her big sister and big brother to that place, and she decided she was going to bring them back. So, she snuck out one night into the castle when her parents were asleep, armed with nothing a compact mirror. Well, actually she might have brought a stick too. A really big stick.
Anyway...the gates are always unlocked, so she was able to get past those easily enough, and then once she slipped into the door, she couldn't believe what she saw next. There were ghosts, everywhere! And they were dancing.
They also didn't seem to respond to her presence. But then she felt something was wrong immediately about them once she gave them a good look over. It became even more clear when she opened up the compact mirror and passed it over all of them. They were actually not ghosts at all -- they were all alive, and wearing...convincing ghost clothing.
[ ... Okay, he's apparently going with that and grabbing a few crackers. ]
She made a count and it just so happened to number all the people who recently went missing. They all seemed to be in a trance, though, so you know what she did? She whacked them all with the stick, knocking them right on their bums, and that broke them out of the Castle's spell! With that done, she began to coordinate them all out of the castle, and with some help blockaded the gate's entrance with some big rocks nearby.
When all was said and done, the girl reunited with her big brother and sister before they all went back home. Once the three parted from the returning group, they met up with their parents, who were surprised but then happy to know they were all together again. The whole family soon happily went to bed and bid each other good night. Then, as they were about to fall asleep, they all heard a deep voice whisper a "good night" too. But, they never found out who it was.
The End!
[ ... ]
Pretty scary and weird, huh?

Hell yeah, it is. Nice story, kid.
no subject
Thanks, I tried my best.
[ He's grinning now. ]
It definitely helped that I've sat through at least one night of story-telling before.

[ His grin softens into a smile, kind of feeling nostalgic as he looks at the fire -- then he turns to look back at Jake. ]
What about you? Have you ever shared any late night stories with friends back at home?
no subject
Only once, with this girl I know back home. She told most of 'em, she was pretty good at it.
[...This is actually probably really unholy to put in this context, but you know what, it's not like the kid has to know.]
no subject
She was?
[ ... ]
...Were they funny or super scary ones?
