Week 2.

WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... [Camilla sighs, just the slightest bit. It's not a hopeful answer, but...]

I hope this will not strain our relationship. But...if he's reacting at all...I suppose it means that even he can change.

[Camilla seems to brace herself a bit, pointing the potion once again, before firing it off--it earns another snap from Arion for her efforts, but it does seem to do the trick for that one. Okay...]

I don't know how I can prevent such things, however. He's...I think he may actually need to be held, rather than be out on his own.

Perhaps. At the very least, he may well need to be trained some.

[ That said... ]

But to see him display likes and dislikes like this is... it shows that they can change more than just the blank slate.

I'll do everything I can for him. I do owe him that much...

[...you know, now that she thinks of it, she's gonna fish in one of her bags for something else--maybe treat based incentives will work...]

Do you think that's true of this world, then? Perhaps it all starts with them.

I hope so, at least.

[ Thinking it is...? Mmm. she's not sure, honestly. She settles into a sitting position near to Camilla, patting her own Beldum as she does, to assure it that she's fine. ]

It would be a great blessing if the curse could be ended by us spreading emotions.

[Camilla manages to fish out a berry from her pack--an Oran berry, gently holding it out to Arion. He sniffs it a little before taking a good bite out of it, and Camilla's quick to make sure her fingers aren't anywhere in that equation--]

Wouldn't it just? I believe it would be fitting, really. Perhaps...perhaps that's what Cynthia would want, as well.

I doubt it shall be so simple as that alone but... yes. It would be wonderful if that was the case, and I am certain some event like that is Cynthia's hope.

[ She tilts her head and then looks Camilla over... ah, should she- ]

... Camilla, are you used to journeys in the wilds?

...Not quite to this extent, if I may be so honest. I'm used to having my retainers nearby, and soldiers at the ready to take care of most needs.

Why do you ask?

I've experience with these sorts of journeys... so I wished to offer that I am ever open to assist in things which befuddle you or are difficult.

[anythingforyou]

[...Oh, Zelda, honey...Arion's distracted by eating while Camilla sprays another spot, but the smile on her face becomes truly warm and pleased with that.]

...You have my thanks, Zelda. You truly are a sweet, darling girl...we're truly blessed by the gods to have you amongst us.

[ Her cheeks color once more, and she wonders - not for the first time - if part of why she wants to speak more with Camilla is to hear such naked praise. It does fill her with some odd emotion, but she nods all the same. ]

You overstate things but... thank you as well.

I only say what I mean, dear! You're so, so worthy of such things. You're so modest...

[It gets Camilla's amusement, if nothing else.]

Only of what I prove myself for. [ Her actions define her... now. That is what she learned, that she had her own worth and that the power was her own. She smiles though, still blushing from the praise but... mmm. ]

[Okay, that's going to get a bit of a laugh from Camilla. God Zelda, stop being so adorable--]

Tell me, has your partner been showing any signs of reaction? I have to wonder if it's simply my own.

I... believe so. It has leaned in with interest when I have studied various plants I've foraged.

[ And right now he's been sort of looking with as close to a robot can show of interest at this whole situation. ]
