Week 2.

WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... I've got plenty of stories to share. Didn't really have many before I left the city, but now? I've been all over the place, seen all sorts of crazy things. It's been a wild ride.

I mean, you've got your catfish and stuff. So I'd imagine so.

Ba'ul's been great. I honestly don't know how he puts up with us flying him all around the world.

Definitely. It's because Judy's with us - they've been friends for a long time.

So is Judy human, or is she another one of those Entelexeia things? ...Or a Repede, I guess she could be one of those, too.

Nope, she's a Kritya. They look a lot like humans, but they've got long pointy ears - like Zelda's. They've also got these... antennae-like things that come out of the backs of their heads - they're really long and brightly colored. I'm pretty sure they're used for communicating with the Entelexeia, since it's something humans can't do.

Huh. We don't have anyone like that at all where I'm from - just the humans and animals, and the monsters, and the monsters that used to be humans and animals.

It'd be pretty cool to have other species that are actually people, I think.

Huh, really? It's always strange to hear about how something we take for granted is completely different in another world. Though I guess there aren't a ton of Kritya living outside of Myorzo to begin with.

Myorzo's the city most of them are from. It was absorbed by an Entelexeia who looks kind of like a giant jellyfish, so it floats all over Terca Lumireis.

Isn't it? We got to check it out at one point; the city itself was just as cool.

That's probably the coolest thing I've seen. I'm wondering if this world's got anything that impressive.

I'd be more surprised if it didn't, what with all the stuff it's got around here animal-wise.

I've seen some pretty interesting Pokémon in the books I was looking through, so here's hoping we'll run into 'em at some point.

Most of the things we've got back home are kinda interesting, I guess. The monsters and stuff. But a lot of them are pretty disgusting and they're all really aggressive, we don't have any friendly ones. So this place has been interesting, with that.

We've got some cute monsters, but they're all really aggressive. So yeah, this place is definitely different. I'm curious to see more of it, though. It's not the worst place to be stuck, anyway.

[bloodspent]

Yeah. I can think of some better places, granted, but it's definitely not the worst.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing more of it, even if the people and creatures here are kinda...

[Vague handwave. You know what he means.]

Hey, I get it if you don't feel like it, but I've been keeping watch at night and people are getting kind of weird at me for staying up all night by myself. You mind helping with that a bit? You seem reliable enough.

[fatalstrikes]

[Yuri smiles at that, and the expression's a little more honest than usual.]

Yeah, no problem. It'd probably be good to have two people on lookout for a group this size anyway. Nice of you to think I'm reliable enough for the job.

[It's just as relaxed as he always is, but he really does appreciate it.]
