Week 2.

WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... Something like that. I heard that someplace in the mountains in a place far away there's a lake where an old lady lives nearby. She's always there between noon and before the sun sets. But, it's said that you shouldn't accept her invitation to stay for the night. Or else...

[ ...So, they're starting off there, apparently. He takes a pause when he notices the other male looks at the marshmellow so seriously. ]

Is the story sounding too scary or is something else on your mind?

[Kiryu listens to the story attentively. Definitely sounds like an old story of some sort, the kind that'd make a kid want to go check how true it is]

Or else...what'd happen?

[Oh. He paused. Kiryu seems to dial down the intense concentration a bit, somewhat embarrassed]

No, nothing like that, it's just...it has been a long while since I had the time to do something like this. Makes me feel like a kid again.

[It's a nice change of pace, at least]

She'll cast a spell on you that'd make you want to stay forever. After that, there's no turning back, unless someone happens to bring along the only item that can break anyone from the spell...

[ Dramatic pause as he smiles a little at that. ]

Well, I'm glad it's working out then. We're on a journey, so it's good to have times when you're relaxing and having fun.

An item? Nothing like the kiss of true love, then?

[Magical items, old women who casts spells, secluded existences in a lake...this truly is like a fairytale. Kiryu tries to memorize it for when he returns home, he's sure his adopted daughter would like it]

You gone on journeys ever before?

[ventulus]

... Nope. There's a few stories like that, though.

Though, the item is a small pink shiny rock that's hard to find and can be only found at the bottom of the lake.

[ Because what is romance. ]

I've been on a journey before all by myself. Though, it kind of ended before I was brought here--I kind of wanted to at first make sure my friends were doing okay. A lot of stuff had happened.

[ ... Kind of shortening it and it was mostly Terra he was concerned about, but. You know. ]

[Huh. Well that's an item he didn't expect. Kiryu examines his roasted marshmallow, mulling the story]

Why a rock? She likes shiny stuff?

[Nice story, yep!]

...with some luck someone will tell us about the state of our worlds and the people we know.

[Or they'll have to look for the information by themselves. Team Galactic could have answers]

Nope, but she lost it a long time ago and forgot. Not so great for her if people find it because it has magical powers -- the kind to break people out of spells and curses.

[ He's glad, he does try. ]

Maybe they will. I'm sure time didn't stop passing because we were brought here, but...I have a feeling that no matter what, the people we care about are doing just fine or they will end up okay.

[ Funny story about that, but. Ventus has faith his friends pulled through. ]
