Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

The ideal warrior would be able to manage both, but of course that isn't always possible.

[ She shakes her head ]

... That said though, Miphanus, are you alright? Perhaps we should wash you off!

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-15 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that'd probably be a good idea. Wait, are Steel-types weak against water...?

[Uhhhhhhh...]

Well, I doubt he'd get near the water if he wasn't at least okay with it, so it's probably fine.
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
No, they aren't- ... I meant more the saliva.

[ . . .

so.

She's going to go to water's edge and urge the Beldum to go into the shallows here. ]
fatalstrikes: (✵ 64)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Yuri stands back to watch, one hand on his hip.]

...So what does "Miphanus" mean?
hyruglyphics: (or something like that)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ah... that's... ]

The full name is Vah Miphanus. I decided to name them after a more ... after a more modern hero, than an ancient one. In the same way that the divine beasts are named.
fatalstrikes: (✵ 004)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah? So what's Vah Miphanus like? Have you met them?
hyruglyphics: (anyway thanks other people!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Her name is-- was Mipha.

[ She says this quietly as she uses the salt water to scrub off the Beldum, crouching down here at the shore. It gets her tights damp, but oh well. ]

A zora champion, and one of astounding skill. Her work with a spear, or swimming was nothing short of beautiful. But she also was gentle... quiet. Her true talent and passion was in her ability to heal.

[ was. It makes something rise in her throat for a moment before she exhales and corrects for it. ]
fatalstrikes: (✵ 029)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
["Was", hmm...]

She sounds like a wonderful person. Healers tend to be, in my experience.

[That's a little lighter, though. It's not quite a joke, but he's not totally serious about it either.]

What's a zora, though?
hyruglyphics: (more expressive!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ That, she can answer more academically, after she makes a soft noise of agreement - Mipha was wonderful. ]

One of several tribes of Hyrule. The zora are a people of the water, adept at swimming and with forms to match that capability. They're a remarkably long-lived people, and as a result have an air of elegance to them as a general rule.
fatalstrikes: (✵ 64)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Huh... We don't have anyone like that where I'm from. What about the other tribes?

[He's also kind of curious what Zelda herself is, since she's got the pointed ears like Krityans but no antennae-like things...]
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Apart from the Zora, there are the Gorons, Rito, Sheikah, Gerudo, and Hylians themselves. ... ah, and the Yiga as well, I suppose.

[ She hums, ] ... And the Koroks, though they are somewhat different.
fatalstrikes: (✵ 69)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's a lot to keep track of. We've only got three: humans, Krityans, and Entelexeia. Though most people don't know about the Entelexeia.

...Oh, and there are monsters, of course.
hyruglyphics: (Pew Pew)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, I did not think to list monster tribes. If I did, the list would increase tremendously; bokoblins, moblins, lizalfos... just to name a few.

[ And there, clean! ]
fatalstrikes: (✵ 024)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, getting into monster species we'd be here all day...

[Ah, looks like you're done!]

Feeling any better?

[He doesn't exactly expect a response from the Pokémon, but he's going to keep trying, okay...]
hyruglyphics: (These are probably)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
I could actually show you the monster species. The Hyrule Compendium in the Sheikah Slate is still there.

[ But as for if it feels better it ! ... Makes some weird electronic sounding sounds. Beep boop ]
fatalstrikes: (✵ 040)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Same to you, buddy.

[yuri no

Anyway. That's definitely caught his interest.]

I'd really like to see 'em; I'm sure your world's got all sorts of different monsters.
hyruglyphics: (I mean some look okay?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ she laughs at that, and then stands, rushing over (which the Beldum with minimal animation but possible interest in its eye) follows. She takes out the Sheikah Slate and flips between a few menus to open up the Hyrule Compendium. Opening it to the pages on monsters, so there's a menu with all of those names and attached photos.

... Curiously, the photos are all like. Not professional? Link took them mid fight with them There might be a handful (especially the boss things) missing but otherwise, it's pretty complete. ]

Here, look at them!

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Yuri follows, of course, and he'll take a look once she's got the menu open.]

Oh wow, it's like the Monster Book. You've definitely got a lot of different kinds!
hyruglyphics: (Frogs!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
We certainly do, though in most eras not affected by the Calamity, many of these would be much rarer, or perhaps not be seen at all.

[ She ... looks curiously as she lets him look and, ]

The Monster Book?
fatalstrikes: (✵ 025)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah? Huh.

[It's tough to imagine a time without a ton of monsters running around...]

The Monster Book's where we keep all our information about monsters. We write it down after our battles. Karol was a member of the Hunting Blades, so that's where he got the book from. It's been pretty handy having a guide to go back to.
hyruglyphics: (nearly at 50!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
The Hyrule Compendium existed as an option for the Sheikah Slate even as we found it, though the information was prompted through pictures taken, apparently, after Purah modified it to be readable in a modern language.

[ So. you know. ]
fatalstrikes: (✵ 49)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
That's crazy. Sounds way easier than having to write it all down!
hyruglyphics: (keywords here?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Very much so! Though to have the tenacity to do so... that shows a great dedication to that knowledge.
fatalstrikes: (✵ 004)

[personal profile] fatalstrikes 2018-06-16 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Hah, you can mostly thank the others for that. I'd pitch in when they asked for it, but keeping up with the book wasn't exactly my idea of a good time.

[He's never been very fond of studying...]
hyruglyphics: (Do appreciate these)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ Somewhat cheeky: ]

Well then thank you, Karol and Rita.

[ Those are the ones he's named dropped so far. .. And Estelle I'm like 90% sure but I'm not sure if she got a name so those two it is. ]
