Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

Well, that's still something.

[What a weird animal, but at least she's food motivated?]

What's that you're holding?

[He'd seen them in the department store, but hadn't know what they were.]

A potion! It seems to be one based around healing the wounds of Pokemon, though I have yet to work out what composes it. The mechanism around it allows it to be sprayed as opposed to ingested though, and seems to work best by applying it right to wounds.

[ So There's that. ]
semistableman: (✪ maybe you're a sinner)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-06-16 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I should have bought some. I didn't know what they were.

[They'd just looked like strange spray bottles to him.]

That's pretty convenient, though. There must be some sort of enzyme in the formula.
hyruglyphics: (HMMM)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I apologize, but I do not know what an enzyme is... would you be willing to explain it to me?

[ I mean, she is genuinely interested, and with the work on the tongue done, she turns with some fascination! The Lickitung keeps the tongue flopping out there because like... wow, that tastes weird. ]

It's this... substance living things produce. Animals, plants. Everything produces it. It can be a lot of different things, but in this case, I think it's something that speeds up the healing process.
hyruglyphics: (might be an idea)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so it is the process behind physical functions... or at least healing. So that must be what is stimulated when people eat hearty cooked food.

[ Interesting. ]
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-06-16 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I think so, yeah. Admittedly I don't know a lot about it.
hyruglyphics: (I mean mostly I)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
No, thank you! Enzymes... I wonder if this world has knowledge of them. If we can find a proper library I shall have to look into it.
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-06-16 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
They've got to have a library somewhere around here.

[Too bad he didn't think to look for one in Veilstone. Oh well.]

Maybe one of the guidebooks would explain how it works.
hyruglyphics: (so like I'll get some better)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-16 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
They are common enough knowledge to be in guide books...?

[ Enzymes, that is??? ]
semistableman: (★ someplace i will never be)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-06-17 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, sort of. Basic component of chemistry.

[Admittedly he didn't pay any attention to that sort of thing until it became something that affected him directly, but you know.]
hyruglyphics: (Frogs!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-17 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Those books are not quite so technical as to include chemistry in them I think... but I'll have to search more!
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-06-17 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe there will be some sort of layman term for it, it's not like I'm an expert.

And I am less than that, for now. Such a word or concept is foreign to my understanding of the sciences.
