Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokรฉmon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

[...Oh, goddammit, that gets some indignant laughter--]

Oh, isn't that the truth. At least he isn't snapping and trying to heatbutt you in the process. But, I suppose some of them had to begin to develop somewhat...unfavorable ones, alongside the other dears.
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-15 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they're just trying to figure themselves out. They still don't have too much going on, so I guess they could just be getting the unfortunate stuff out first.

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-15 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm. Well, that'll just make their more positive aspects shine even more in the long run, I suppose...if it starts like that, surely they'll end up in a far more pleasant state of mind the longer we care for them.

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
...You really like these things, don't you?
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน Five.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
[...jake, is that even a question]

Of course I do! Perhaps it helps that both of my partners are adorable, if perhaps a tad feisty...

[NOT NAMING NAMES HERE.]

But I love having something to take care of, you see.
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
...I guess that makes sense.

[He doesn't entirely get it, but...]

So you're probably going to be a good mom one day.
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน Five.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
[...There's a bit of a pause at that, admittedly, but Camilla actually chuckles a bit.]

Well, I wouldn't say no to a sweet child to spoil rotten! Why, it would fill me with incredible joy to give Nohr another shining light. It would simply have to wait until our war is finished...
bloodspent: (28. when you were there first)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, of course. But some people are more suited to that sort of thing, just in general. And I think you'd be good at it.
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน One.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
You flatter me, you know. It's incredibly sweet.

[sir you flatter the woman from the game that created the babyrealms entirely too much]

What would you say you're suited to, then?
bloodspent: (23. heavy as a feather)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
[As long as she didn't create the babyrealms we might be okay still, we can salvage this.

That said, though, he just kind of shrugs.]

I kill people. It's pretty much all I know how to do; I've been doing it since I was a kid. I don't really have anything else.
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน Two.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh, that...]

You don't believe there's any sort of peaceful future for yourself...?

[Mmm. That's. Getting a bit of a weird reaction.]
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
...I don't know.

[Sherry would probably be disappointed in that answer, wouldn't she? She wouldn't try to make him change it, but she'd do that thing with her face; she's got a way of making you feel bad without saying anything, and without really even meaning to, he's pretty sure.]

It's changed a bit, lately. I don't take payment for it anymore, unless someone wants to give me food or something for my effort. And I only take out the people that need to be put down - I'm protecting these kids in another country right now, making sure no one kills 'em or fucks with them, because they don't deserve that shit.

So it's different, but it's still killing people, you know?
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน Fifteen.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Camilla listens, really, and it definitely paints a different picture of Jake than she expected. It's not bad by any means; it's something she can understand on some level, but...

If anything, it's the last part she's a little visibly thrown by. Still, it's...]

...It is, certainly. Even if it is for a noble cause, there are still people dying. They sound like they deserve it, for daring to harm the hairs on those precious children's heads.

[That's...definitely beside the point, though.]

I've done the same thing myself, you know...killing, since I was little. I still do it now, as a soldier, and I foresee myself doing such a thing for quite some time. But, even as such, there's always an ending to such things. Wars end, the people after those children will be naught but memories...

Perhaps I'm simply optimistic in saying such a thing, but I believe you'll find a peaceful future for yourself.

[...]

Who knows? Perhaps you'll become a wonderful father, if given enough time!

[Yeah she had to add some levity to this somehow, she mostly said that to see his reaction.]
bloodspent: (46. to wait around forever)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh, god.

That...it gets him to tense up involuntarily, that last part, and even if he knows she didn't mean anything by it -

(I can see your father in you)

- it's still kind of a lot to take in.]

...We'll see about the peaceful future thing. But trust me, I'm the last person you want raising kids.
anythingforyou: (๐ŸŒน Six.)

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-16 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that...mmm, she didn't have any idea it was that bad of a minefield. The jovial tone is gone and replaced with one of concern once she sees him tense up.]

...I'll take your word for it--I apologize if I dredged up something terrible, in saying such a thing.
bloodspent: (29. first you get hurt)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-06-16 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's okay. I just...

[He shrugs after a moment. Tries to shake it off.]

I told you I never met my father. Someone that knew him once said that I'm like him, though, in a way that I'm pretty sure wasn't a compliment.
