Week 2.
WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild PokƩmon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!] |

I would hardly call myself down. I'm... [She sighs.] Just a tad frustrated, that's all. Don't tell me I'm starting to look sullen...
no subject
[He'll stop nearby with his Pokémon slightly behind him.]
You wanna talk about it?
no subject
On one hand, she didn't actually expect that. But on the other, maybe it actually wouldn't be so bad to try to talk it through. She decides to go with the other, taking a moment to sit down; her Pokemon will be fine enough for now.]
...It might not be entirely pleasant, but I would not be opposed. I'm not exactly used to being so powerless in a situation like this, you see, or allowing problems like our gracious host-to-be to remain so...pesky.
no subject
Things are pretty different where you're from, yeah? I'll admit, I'm really not fond of the idea of marching into a trap, but I've never been good at diplomacy anyway. I know it's important, and I think some of the others might actually stand a chance of getting something out of the meeting... but it's still kind of frustrating.
no subject
[...Gods, she's is so thankful for Yuri, he gets it.]
Oh, I'm so glad you understand. I always present the part of someone so...peaceful and elegant, but I truly can't stand the idea of negotiating with someone so dreadful. The others may have more luck, but it certainly makes one feel entirely too useless in this equation.
[Camilla runs a few fingers through her hair.] If we were all stronger...we wouldn't even have to consider such things.
no subject
Yeah. Give me a sword and I'll fight anyone, at any time. This? This is all new to me. Negotiating is something Flynn can do, it's never something I needed to do. So I can't help but feel kinda useless here.
[He lifts his shoulders a bit, but it's not a proper shrug.]
no subject
It's so much easier when you don't have to worry about such things...when it's just your will against their's. It's far more absolute and definitive than the possibility of agreeing to something horrid.
[...]
...I guess when put like that, maybe I really am down about that meeting.
no subject
[Yuri's quiet for a moment before turning his attention to Camilla.]
...But being down isn't going to help everyone else any, yeah? I think it's important to try to trust the others; we may not know everyone really well yet, but we've got a lot of determined people. I can't see anyone here giving up even in the face of these odds. So let's do what we can to support the others, even if we can't rely on our usual methods of fighting.
no subject
It gets a bit of a frustrated sigh, though she's very pointedly not looking at Yuri when she does it. She definitely knows that, but it's...]
As long as there's no talk of people needing to be babysat again. I have little supporting the others, but it's like there's so little faith, it's...
[Maybe that's what's frustrating her so much? But she's going off track.]
...I could do to trust them more, however, yes. And I will do what I can; I like to think I can be a sisterly presence, if nothing else. And if that's what's needed, I'll offer it happily to others.
I simply may need to work out the rest of this dreadful energy. [She looks back to Yuri at this point, smiling at least slightly.] Tell me...would you be up for a battle?
no subject
Hmm, I can see where that'd be annoying. I didn't think they were being serious about it, though.
[He does get that sometimes you just need to babysit your party members. Even he's needed the babysitting sometimes.]
But yeah, of course I'm up for a battle. What do you want to do, sparring or testing our partners out?
[Because he is absolutely here for either or both. He's not the best at hand-to-hand combat, but Yuri loves a good fight.]
no subject
Tell me, exactly how amendable are you to finding a particularly large stick to fight with? I'm afraid I have no experience fighting without a weapon, and I simply think it would be unfair to force you to fight unarmed.
[...]
Unless you're fine with such a thing, of course.
[Camilla has a fairly big stick she's been using to train Arion to follow with. It'll be a suitable sacrifice to fight with. Bring it, boy.]
no subject
[That's not sarcastic at all despite the wording. He actually looks really excited??]
Meet you back here once we've found ourselves some useful sticks.
[And he's off!! Hell yeah, let's spar, this should be fun.]
