Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

Their resilience was truly impressive, to have taken that bite and tackle, the fall off the rock, and still prove able to stand without much incident?

[ she says it all excitedly. Sure, the thing seemed a little unruly, but she reaches down to pick up the ball, pulling it up to her chest and taking it tighter to herself. ]

I would consider that rather extreme levels of resilience...and it didn't even seem to flinch. Really, I've never seen that sort of resilience outside of those who wear armor of some sort...does the creature simply have less of a capacity to feel pain?

[Like. That's almost Faceless levels of painlessness. Or maybe just something sciencey? Camilla's not sure, but it'll be useful, probably.]

Precisely my thought! Either they must be a very unaware creature, or be exceedingly tough! It... seemed for the best to make friends with such a strong creature.

[ Given their situation, that is? She glances down at the ball with a smile, holding it gently in her hands.

It's weird how light it is. ]

... A lack of capacity to feel pain... huh.

[Ah, that makes perfect sense to Camilla. There's strength in numbers, but there's also strength in being too oblivious to notice...pain...clearly, this is a good option.]

They'll certainly be a strong ally...but be sure to be firm with them, won't you? Just in case they turn out to be an unruly sort.

[...Hmm.]

Does it concern you? That it may not feel pain.

It does, but if it is natural for the species... then it would not be so strange. For a reptilian looking creature of that size, it would be quite abnormal, however.

[ Or maybe it's a mammal? It's hard to tell, and it's pink. She thoughtfully looks at the ball from a few angles as she considers this. ]

... Or no, it would be strange, but it would not be concerning would perhaps be the better way to think of it.

[...Oh, Zelda...]

I understand. That concern for them will ensure that you raise them well, I think; they'll be able to know that you're keeping an eye on them, so they don't push too far.

As long as you look out for them...I don't think you have too much to worry for. They'll be able to rely on you, now.
hyruglyphics: (idk man)

... You're right, of course. I did decide to capture this one for it's resilience, and so regardless of its source, I will end up relying on them for that. [ and because of ... the likelihood of combat. ] I must own that in how I raise them.
