Week 2.

WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... I guess hunting for food's hard, huh?

It is often wise to avoid doing so. After all, it can lead to complications for both yourself and the animal in question. ... But I do understand the compulsion.

Yeah, they think you're an easy source of food and that causes all sorts of problems...

It is called an Eevee, a normal type pokemon. I have read they are known for being adaptable to different environments.

So this little guy's pretty tough, then? [It's adaptable...? That means it can deal with a lotta stuff, right?]

Evidently! As a result, it seems that they handle interacting with humans well. It was mentioned that they are common companions for younger trainers, if they can be found.

Well, considering how they are now, I'm not sure if it's handling me well or if it's just because they're....

[Still, he can't help but give the little Eevee another scratch behind the ears, even if it doesn't seemingly care.]

Mmn...it makes me wish we could help them all, but...

[Monta climbs up to his shoulder, seemingly curious about all the attention he's giving the Eevee. He gives his Chimchar a little scratch under the chin to acknowledge it.]

We can barely help our own partners, it feels like...

Sena. This one was injured because of you. Why don't you look after it, for now?

[He blinks owlishly in surprise.]

Makes sense, I guess, but you think it'll want to come?

If it does not, then you let it go free. But for now, you can at least look after it until they recover.

[too bad he's going to teach this eevee to go Fast and then you'll have Three Party Members Going Fast what have you enabled]

...Yeah, I should at least make sure it gets better...

Yes, exactly! That seems the most right course of action, Sena!

[Eevee doesn't care whether you do that or not. Thanks for the food, though.]

Approving nod, and she'll stand more completely from her crouch. She smiles for Sena, and makes to leave him and the Eevee be, then. ]
