Week 2.

WEEK 2. The new week begins with new surroundings. The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason. Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way. From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there. Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important... You're only doing what you feel is right. You're neither the first nor the last to put all you have into the task at hand because you find it necessary.

But it remains true that if I intend to help, and I have the power, I must also be prepared for combat. ... and so, if you truly offer to help me, Ignis, I would like your help in beginning.

[He'd said it without thinking, lightly as if making no more than a playful remark of it. But then what he'd actually said hit him a second later, and a sense of lightheadedness washed over him like ice water even behind the small diplomatic smile fixed to his face.]

[...This wasn't like him. Push everything back, lock it away, focus only on the task at hand and dwell on nothing more. Nothing else mattered but the goal of escaping this world and returning home, to whatever was left of it.]

So, where shall we begin?

[ If she notices, and she might, she doesn't comment on it. She simply smiles a little more for him and - for the benefit of the blind man, she responds, ]

[ As in sensei. She smiles all the same, brushing back her hair and... then gestures for Miphanus to make itself known. Which results in the weird electrical bloops it can make. ]

Wherever you think is best. We ought to judge the capabilities of Miphanus and the other one, right?

Right...of course.

[He quickly shook off the lingering feeling of having knocked the ground out from under himself, trying to refocus.]

Can you describe yours to me? Anything you've noticed in their demeanor however limited, their abilities, things like that. I'd like to have a better grasp of what we're working with.

Miphanus can float, for one. ... I only learned its species from Ari, who was able to identify it as a Beldum because of a traveler in town. Otherwise, I have not been able to find anything about Beldum in books. But given its form... I can assume they are a steel type.

They have one eye at the front, and otherwise simply has a long metal body. The one battle I ended up in before now, when ordered, they performed a very strong looking tackle?

[ and she reaches for her belt for the other... ]

As for the other, I found them in a book - they're called a Lickitung. The creature is much larger, almost the size of me and with a long... tongue. Their tongue must stretch for over a meter fully extended, and their body is large, sturdy, and rotund. ... and pink.

...That latter one...sounds a bit concerning.

[ With a somewhat amused note on her lips, Zelda throws the ball and makes the Lickitung appear before them! So Ignis gets to enjoy the sound and feeling of a (given hers is overly large for a Lickitung, closer to her in height than the normal 4ish feet) probably over 250lbs of fat pink thing popping into existence here.

... And then if either of his Pokemon are out still its tongue reaching out as if to grab them to eat them until Zelda scolds it, ]

Stop it! They are not food.
