Week 2.

WEEK 2.

The new week begins with new surroundings.

The city you've been growing accustomed to over the past week is now well behind you as you set out on your journey proper; the terrain still seems rocky and steep here as you move downhill and to the south, dotted here and there with small ponds to the east and rocky outcroppings that you can climb on to the west. There are also large expanses of tall grass here, and the entire route is flanked with tall trees leading off into the forest a short ways. You're more than welcome to explore; just don't stray too far from the group - you wouldn't want to be left behind out here, for any reason.

Wild Pokémon are abundant here, as anyone venturing into the tall grass will discover; they aren't inclined to attack you, however, simply watching with dull, dead eyes as you stumble through the area they've come to call home. The trip is difficult, and it's a lot of walking, but it's not unmanageable; fortunately enough, the route you're on should lead you directly to Valor Lakefront, assuming there are no complications along the way.

From Thursday and beyond, the route takes a sharp turn west; in front of you lies what's clearly the ocean, large rocks jutting out just offshore tempering the waves. It's safe to go in the water if you so choose - assuming you can swim, that is - and the forested terrain has given way to a large beach with patches of tall grass here and there.

Interestingly, there's a house located on the beach; whether it's inhabited or not is difficult to tell. Of course, exploring slightly north of the beach will reveal a path. Maybe it leads somewhere important...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 213
POKEMON AVAILABLE: NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

[ It's cool, he can be entirely too rigid for both of them. Despite that though, it seems like he's pretty comfortable with this arrangement and would have likely said something along the lines of that when he hears that reference.

Yeah he looks puzzled and...almost concerned. ]

Old...? Why does the age of the priest matter?
eudaimonikos: ('cause everything else)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-06-17 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's a movie. There's a demon who possesses a little girl, see, and an old priest and a young priest go to do an exorcism on her. They both die, of course; the old man has a heart attack, and the young one takes the demon into his own body and commits suicide to spare the girl. But she does get out of it alright, so...

[He moves both hands in a sort of scale motion. It all comes out even?]

I see...that sounds like an unfortunate outcome even if the girl was saved. [ He looks to the side at Michael before refocusing his gaze on the wilderness in the distance. ]

I suppose it is lucky that I have an experience with exorcisms, then. [ It's not said like a threat, but he's back to being amused. ]
eudaimonikos: (would you give me)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-06-18 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Those a real thing where you’re from?

[Michael seems vaguely amused as well.]
hesychast: (Sᴇᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏsᴛs ᴏғ ᴀʟʟ)

[personal profile] hesychast 2018-06-18 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. I would not say it's common, but sometimes such steps are necessary. [ A beat. ]

Ah—if I am to be frank, the last exorcism I performed was on a vampire not a demon. The ritual is similar enough that I doubt that matters, though.
eudaimonikos: (but I'm a missile)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-06-18 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Huh. Michael turns to look up at him, intrigued.]

What happens when you exorcise a vampire?
hesychast: (Sᴇᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏʟᴇs ᴀʀᴇ ʙᴜʀɴɪɴɢ ᴀʟʟ)

[personal profile] hesychast 2018-06-18 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
They return to ash, of course. [ He looks to Michael with a much too pleasant smile. ]

In this instance there were two souls involved, one of the vampire and the other of the...host of sorts, who had forced a fusion between the two. They both were put to rest, and their souls are now at peace.
eudaimonikos: (a boost over heaven's gate)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-06-18 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Not the traditional vampire lore. Of course, in some places, they have stories of vampires that hop everywhere they go.

[He gestures like...well, hopping.]

Because of the funeral bindings, see. So, what's a human fuse with a vampire for, eternal life or something?
hesychast: (Pʀᴀɪsᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴛᴀʟ ᴍᴀɴ?)

[personal profile] hesychast 2018-06-18 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this one did run on all fours. He was in a rush, though. [ A nod at the gesture regardless. ]

I suppose you could say that. But the fusion between the two was forced on the part of the human, the vampire wanted no part of it. Vlad the III desired nothing but to bury his rise to fame as Dracula, you see.
eudaimonikos: (the metaphysics of morals)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-06-18 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No.

[Michael's voice is as drama-filled as you could possibly ask for.]

You met Dracula?
