WEEK 21 It's been a while since you were last in Eterna City. While it seems you've suffered another setback on Sunday morning, hopefully it won't completely break your morale; there have been many losses lately, but you have to keep going, especially once the state of things in Eterna City become more clear to you upon your arrival there. The city, for lack of a better word, seems torn - the buildings seem almost patchwork in places, having been torn apart at the seams and replaced with things that seem to have come from elsewhere and nowhere all at once. Parts of other buildings, parts of trees, parts of roads, even - stay in one spot long enough and you can see it happen. It isn't ripples or pulses, like it was with Dialga; this is violent, something sharp and harsh whipping through the air in a burst of energy, tearing through all inanimate objects in its path and replacing them with something that frankly shouldn't be there. Thankfully, the cause of this doesn't seem to be targeting you; it will leave you unharmed, though your Pokémon are definitely aware of it and the rending will cause them to flinch whenever it fires off, regardless of if it hits them or not. It's likely a stressful time for them - just as it is for the locals, who don't seem too willing to leave their homes at the moment... That's just how some people are like. They'll always aspire to reach powers that should be out of their reach.

Another one of those things that's just kind of a universal constant, I guess. Always someone doing mad science or worse.

I should consider myself lucky my world has nothing like this, as far as I know.

[Just...power-hungry people using the criminal underworld. Which is pretty bad already, let's be honest]

It's probably pathetic or something, but I have a hard time picturing it? My world's got people playing god all over the place.

[And, you know, causing the zombie apocalypse.]

What we have the most of is people trying to pick up fights -- although that may be just because of who I am.

[Turns out it's not just Kiryu. It's a plight of being a Yakuza series main character. Maybe thugs in that world are just itching for fights all the time]

We've got our fair share of that, too, but I'm pretty sure that one is just because of who I am. The whole mercenary thing kind of lends itself to it.

Yes. Growing up with ties to the yakuza's bound to be more trouble than it's worth -- especially if that person is the former Fourth Chairman of the largest clan.

[Which is why in canon he tries his very best to stay away from that kind of thing, even moving away and living as an orphanage director, a taxi driver, and other kind of harmless lives. It's just too bad circumstances keep dragging him into the fray]
