[Mars' chains had faded away as soon as the chains on Palkia had shattered, that unnatural red glow leaving her eyes; she doesn't stumble, to her credit, and seems to be trying to resist the urge to flinch or anything, but she's...not precisely looking too hot, either. Not like she's going to faint or anything, just like she's been through A Lot.

[After all of that, Atsushi didn't think that they'd be spending time resting in the Galactic Base, but here they are. He'd been a little less of a force during their confrontation with Jupiter and Mars than he had been during the battle against Heatran, mostly because the others were better at talking. He was good at...you know, recklessly throwing himself at problems until they fixed themselves. Now he needed to rest and find his Pokemon some healing because he'd literally upended his bag and gave Palkia all of his berries.

He finds one of the beds and sits down there with Chazuke, Mizushi, and Natto sitting in a semi-circle around him as he rummages in his bag for some towels he'd shoved in there. He lets Grace out, giving her the task of running some of the towels to the kitchen to be dampened (and if you're in the kitchen you might find an Eevee bumping into your legs, silently asking you to help her up to the sink), using them once she returned to wipe the three larger Pokemon down since they were all still ashy from the fight in the cavern.

Atsushi then has Mizushi sit on the bed next to him, carefully spraying his wounds with a potion bottle, occasionally spritzing Natto with the same. Remarkably she's in better shape even after challenging Heatran head on. Mizushi is just exhausted really, after both attacking for so long without reprieve and everything.

...of course, the Floatzel isn't getting out of the TLC without Atsushi pulling him into a hug, to which the Floatzel looks down at him for a moment before carefully returning the embrace, patting Atsushi's back with his paws and licking his hair, slicking his bangs off his forehead in the silliest way possible.

He's tired, they all are, but...things are improving. Slowly but surely, and that's something.]

What in the heck even happened to you guys? Did you fall into somebody's fireplace or something?

We ran into a really huge fire-type Pokemon that Team Galactic has been keeping here. It had to be a legendary.

[He wipes the towel over Natto's back, grimacing when it comes back black from all of the soot.]

It had a broken red chain stuck in its back, so it really was not happy when we found it.

For serious? That's messed up. ...Wait, you're sure it was here? We got moved to all different places.

I'm pretty sure? Though...I guess with the way Palkia was distorting space, it would make sense to assume the end of that staircase led to somewhere else entirely.

Huh. Yeah, we got teleported all over the place. We saw Candice! She's doin' a lot better, she can walk and talk and knows her own name. She's hanging out with Michael's buddy, Regigigas. The one he calls Big Blinky.

[He still doesn't know her, but he certainly knows of her.]

What happened, how is she better now?

Iunno. My best guess, that last end-the-world restart undid how Uxie did a number on her, but she still sorta recognized us.

Man...I'm glad she's doing better now, at least.

[Eustace has come in to crash on a bed for a bit, and can't help but notice Atsushi cleaning his Pokemon up.]

I heard a bit during the confrontation with the commanders, but...what did you all run into?

[Because it sounded a whole lot worse than being mildly inconvenienced by some cold and spending time on the beach.]

Guess Team Galactic must've used it for a trial run... Glad you all made it out at least. [Not unscathed, but...at least everyone's alive?!] And you got the chain out, right? Rey was saying something about that.

[Atsushi nods. Barely alive, but alive!]

Yeah, Rey's Clefairy got it out for us. It was really tough, though. Soon as it was gone, the Pokemon calmed right down.

It's disconcerting to consider what Dialga and Palkia would've been like if they attacked us under the chain's influence, if that one was a handful with just a fragment in it. You all did a good job.

I can't say what we went through was as harrowing. Though there were some alarming moments, it wasn't...like that.

[Let's just say for a split second, Eustace's group was ready to personally fistfight the deity they came across.]

We must have just gotten unlucky, I guess...I heard you came across a Pokemon too. They didn't have a red chain, I'm guessing?

We ran into another legendary Pokemon, had to be. It was a fire type who was really not happy when we showed up, but we found out there was a broken red chain stuck in their back...and we had a lot of trouble subduing it long enough to remove it.

I'm really glad that I ended up on the beach where the worst thing that happened was we thought a legendary murdered Emmeryn for a second.

I believe so? I think it was just the Pokemon's way of communicating, which unfortunately happened to seem really alarming to the rest of us.

Still...I didn't think we'd run into so many legendaries at once.

On some level, I think it does make sense... I wouldn't be surprised if legendary Pokemon had some sort of energy that attracted them to each other, so we'd be more likely to end up meeting a legendary through distorted space than a normal Pokemon. Still, it... wasn't really something I was prepared for.

One good thing...is that it seems like the only reason any of them are with Team Galactic at all is because it's against their will. That much means that we're still fighting against people doing bad things, and not gods.

...well. We're still up against gods controlled by those people, but...it's a little less unnerving to think about it that way, somehow.

Oh, definitely. There's more hope for us if we can free the gods, even if that's a fairly big if there.
