Yes, I'll meet you coming back when the universe has expanded
[Mars' chains had faded away as soon as the chains on Palkia had shattered, that unnatural red glow leaving her eyes; she doesn't stumble, to her credit, and seems to be trying to resist the urge to flinch or anything, but she's...not precisely looking too hot, either. Not like she's going to faint or anything, just like she's been through A Lot.
Jupiter is staying near her for the time being; ultimately, she's the one that addresses you.]
You guys can stay here if you want. Or don't, I don't care enough to insist. But we've got food and beds that probably beat the Center's, at least.
We'll be around, either way. Since I doubt you guys are just going to leave us alone after all that. Do what you want.
[OOC: Consider this a log to cover both any afterparty whatnot you want to get up to, as well as something to carry over into Sunday! Both Jupiter and Mars will be available for NPC threads on this particular log, should they be desired.]

...As for the question, that...actually sees Camilla's face going a little downcast, and her looking away. She's...]
...It was kind of a lot.
[She looks really, really conflicted.]
I've never tried to show sympathy to any of those... [parasites? cretins? Neither of those words feel right exiting her mouth, and it's weird.] ...people, before. I...don't know whether it was a mistake to try, or not.

Jake's kind of quiet for a moment at that, though.]
Why do you think it was a mistake?

[...]
Well. Liable to either get you killed by the enemy at best, and considered a traitor to the country at worst.
[She doesn't look up, just kind of letting her hand be engulfed by the vines and like. Attempting to pet? It's something to center her, at least. It's...something she really doesn't know how to talk about at length, for all of her listening she does about feelings.]

I've always kind of had the opposite problem. I kill people, sure, I do what I have to, because it's always going to be me over them when it comes to surviving. But I've never really been good at shutting off whatever's in my head that wants to see them as people.
I get it, though. And even if the others here want to understand everybody and hold hands and sing, that's not always going to be possible. I don't think you did anything bad, though, in trying to understand those girls today.

...Perhaps it is simply just me. I just keep thinking, sometimes, that if Father or Xander saw me, they'd be disappointed in how far I've strayed.
[...]
I don't regret it, though. I don't think they're entirely bad people, if I can be honest with you. There are certainly worse ones out there, but they're...pretty alright, I'd say.
no subject
[It's gentle, though, definitely not derogatory in any way.]
I dunno, it's been kind of weird getting to know them. The more we talk to them, the more it seems like they're just...really sad, a lot of the time.
[...]
Which makes sense, in hindsight, given that it's an anti-feelings cult? Happy people don't do shit like this.
no subject
...Really, you're not wrong. They've all clearly been handed a rather crummy lot in life to turn to Cyrus for salvation in the first place. Even if they are a part of something like this, perhaps it was...maybe a touch hasty.
But oh, no, you're absolutely right. Happy people absolutely don't turn to this sort of garbage. [Camilla sighs a bit, but she seems happier.] I truly do hope, that if we are able to fix this world...they can find some genuine happiness for themselves, outside of all of this.

[...]
Cyrus is obviously pretty fucked up, too, but he's probably going to be a harder sell. He's really dedicated to everything he's doing, and he's good at talking his way around any attempts at getting through to him.
no subject
...The second bit, however, oh boy. That makes Camilla bristle a bit.]
I'm really not looking forward to our attempts at that. I know at this point it's what we're liable to try, but... [Don't Like It Tho] Can a man like him actually be gotten through to? He seems like someone who's made up his mind, and intends to stick with it until the end. I don't necessarily want to be pessimistic about it, but...
[She's still a little apprehensive about dealing with him like that, for multiple reasons.]
no subject
[It's kind of been bothering him since that whole thing happened, honestly.]
You were asking him questions, and he was actually giving you answers. He didn't like that and started trying to pick a fight as soon as he got an opening.
I don't know about getting through to him, but you did actually get him to talk to you. It freaked him out.

[Jake. Honey. Sweet, dear brother of hers.
She might actually be looking at him like he has a horn growing out of his head for a moment, but she winds up looking away and actually thinks about it? She's honestly not sure what the fuck she did, but...
The more she actually thinks about it, the more she realizes that the fucker was actually straightforward with her. Lord knows why? Arceus themselves only knows why?? What, was the real secret of all of this to just not give an actual shit about him the entire time and be blunt about it??? Jake might be bearing witness to Camilla going through all five stages of grief in her facial expressions, it's like the fucking olympics over here. What the actual fuck.
...Needless to say, the sheer amount of "Thanks! I hate it!" is very strong in the expression Camilla finally settles on, and quite frankly, she could have gone her whole life without any of that knowledge.]
...No, actually, I didn't...really realize that he was doing that. Really, I didn't even think about the impact of such a thing at all because I wanted it to be over with the very second he was in the picture.
[Ohhhhh dear gooooods.]
Was that the secret, or something like that?
no subject
[Maybe?]
no subject
...Well, at least I know I won't have to care for him a single bit when we talk. It'll just be a matter of not walking into a gods forsaken trap this time.
no subject
Ah, come on. At least it's a strategy.
no subject
[can you sound anymore like a petulant five year old, Camilla]
I mean, I'll try it. Don't get me wrong. But I'm certainly not going to like it.
no subject
[...]
Except for the Commanders, who are all complete outliers.

no subject
HE DIDN'T EXPECT THAT, IT'LL ACTUALLY GET HIM TO LAUGH, WOW]
I mean, you're not wrong.
no subject
[...Okay, she kind of puffs up a bit with pride at that, and she might be smiling. Maybe. It's getting there.]
