[Mars' chains had faded away as soon as the chains on Palkia had shattered, that unnatural red glow leaving her eyes; she doesn't stumble, to her credit, and seems to be trying to resist the urge to flinch or anything, but she's...not precisely looking too hot, either. Not like she's going to faint or anything, just like she's been through A Lot.

You guys can stay here if you want. Or don't, I don't care enough to insist. But we've got food and beds that probably beat the Center's, at least.

Today was such a mess. You have fun with Palkia? I've got no idea what it said to freak all the Pokémon out like that.

I've heard Pokemon talk to each other before, I don't know how they can all understand each other, but it sounded more like a growl than what I've heard.

Maybe it was sayin' something menacing.

[The hellshrieking sure made it seem like it was threatening bodily harm against someone. Maybe everyone in the room.]

Maybe. I know people think Pokémon can't be evil or anything, but even the legends say they can threaten the crap out of us if we make them too mad.

Even if they're Pokemon, I guess they're still gods foremost.

What are the gods where you're from? Since they're obviously not Pokémon. Do they look like humans?

That's kind of a complicated question, actually. There are a lot of religions in my world, and most of 'em don't agree with each other. For the most part gods are more metaphysical; you can't literally talk to them.

But my friend has a coworker who appears to be an alien quasi-god who was the inspiration for a god of a religion that isn't really practiced anymore? Honestly I still don't know how the hell any of that is possible.

Wow. That sounds kind of...lonely, I guess? If all your gods can't be talked to.

The gods we've got don't really care about us - or, well, some of them don't, some of them do, you've met them so you probably get what I'm saying. But they're Pokémon. They're going to have different priorities and stuff. But we know they're there, because we've seen them and we can summon them to us if we have the right things. We can even summon the Creator if we want, without using the Red Chains - anyone can.

Honestly, I wouldn't have guessed that. I would have figured the more powerful, the more likely it would be to keep out of sight.

Oh, it usually does. But that doesn't mean it can't be summoned. It's not something that people do a lot, because it's not really here to do favors for us? But it's possible.

Still, the fact that it's possible is impressive. I wouldn't have guess that at all.
