[...Well, if nothing else, this trip to Giratina's World has been enlightening if nothing else. Even if everybody just kind of found out nothing that they really wanted to find out, nobody had to die tonight, and frankly, that was enough.

This has to be one of the oddest places to do their usual 'after near death experience' parties, to say the least, but food is generally one of the better cures for such a thing and will be seen to, one way or another. Even in this weird, weird world.

Rest easy, everyone. Even in...quite possibly the most uneasy place known to man.]

[Ignis was in fact 'around', sitting with Highwind and Hemera with his Eevee in his arms.]

[...honestly, the fact that he didn't seem to notice Bucky at all said a lot for how disoriented he was by the whole place.]

[Casually greeting him is definitely the way to go, though Flora being a goat absolutely jumps up on him before Bucky can say hi.]

Wh--? [OH OKAY Eevee is jumping out of her spot with an upset sound, replaced by an armful of GOAT]

[He is absolutely sending the Eevee an apologetic look because she does not deserve this.]

Sorry about that. She's not much of a fan of people looking too moody, or lost in thought. I'd swear she gets it from one of Steve's friends, but he's not even here.

...it's alright. [Eevee curled up with Hemera instead, Ignis gently petting Flora so long as she was climbing all over him.]

How are you doing?

[Poor Eevee. Flora settles down eventually, apparently satisfied with Ignis, because she crawls out of his lap after a while, returning to Bucky's side.]

About as well as I can, same as always. What about you?

...I'm not entirely sure.

[The silver Eevee crawled back into Ignis' arms once the space was vacated, curling right back up.]

[Bucky shoots Flora a look, but she looks too proud of herself to be shamed by her companion glaring at her. He turns his attention back to Ignis, sitting beside the man.]

Honestly? That's an entirely appropriate reaction.

[Bucky just usually tries to avoid talking about how much a given situation is fucking him up.]

I'm just...so tired. I don't know what's right or wrong or even what I'm meant to do with myself anymore. And I can't find any direction to solve the problem.

Wish I could tell you what to do. Maybe you should do what I did; retire, move to the middle of nowhere.

...I can't. I still have so much work to do, and I can't leave it to Gladio and Prompto when they've lost just as much.

Maybe all three of you should retire.

[Though he'll admit he's an old man who has seen way too much.]

Doesn't seem fair, putting the weight of the world on only a few shoulders.

It has to be someone, with the way things are now. Marshal Leonis is hardly in any fit state, he and Libertus both will no doubt be occupied directing the rest of the Kingsglaive and coordinating rebuilding efforts of their own.

[A pause, in which Ignis took a slow breath. He felt far older than thirty-two, and it was beginning to show in his sheer exhaustion.]

...It would be wrong, to stand aside now. I know they must feel the same. We are the Glaives of the Chosen King, and Noctis would never have stood back from a world in need of aid. The three of us can ask no less of ourselves.

[Bucky sighs, but it's a knowing sort of noise. Like he's heard this sort of thing before, thought about it before.]

It sounds like you guys have a lot of work to do.

[discutio]

End of the world, you know how it is.

[A vague gesture to their surroundings.]

Yeah. Seems like a common theme.

[He breathes out.]

But if we can fix it here...

The threat that plagued our own world is gone--we don't have a Cyrus to worry about, but neither do we have...most of our population.

It'll be a fair bit of work, but it seems more possible than things do here at the moment.

[semistableman]

That sounds awful. I won't ask how it all happened, but--

[He shakes his head.]

It just seems like an awful lot.

[discutio]

It's...not a story I'd likely mind sharing, in the broader strokes. But the shortest version is that it's been a very, very long road to get to where we are now. And from here it's just...seeing the world pick itself up and carry onward.

[A slow breath, and a quiet sigh.]

It was, as you say, 'an awful lot'. But hopefully-...hopefully things will improve once I get back.

Don't worry about it. There's a lot I'm not exactly going to be telling anyone anytime soon.

I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm not very good at confronting my problems.
