Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. Yes, there do seem to be much more abundant water types than some others... such as fire?

They've done that with a lot - it doesn't seem they put much of a premium on the spread of information.

What are you supposed to do with sick humans, again? [Speaking of which] And what are your Pokemon doing?

Next time we find a bunch of TMs, we should just take them all. For the road.

[He still doesn't toooootally see why we're paying the dead-eyed folk.]

He knows how to imitate the cries of other Pokemon. It's something they do in the wild, to blend in. I just expanded on that idea. It is pretty creepy, isn't it?

[Michael seems to think it's funny. He scans around as he talks, until...]

I think your dragon is eating an axolotl.

Uh, it depends on the type of- [cough cough] -sickness.

[It does not escape him that he's talking about himself and his species the same way one would about other animals.]

For a cold like this, uh...just bed rest and hot food is fine. Maybe some medicine.

[Like any teenage boy, though, he'd rather not take the medicine if he didn't have to. Not having money for medicine is a good enough excuse as any.]

...I dunno, though. They just decided to start fetching sticks.

It's funny how different all our home dimensions are, isn't it...? Well, our home systems, I'd know if any of you were from any dimensions related to mine.

Still, all our magic or whatever is strictly afterlife-related, there's no humans with magic swords running around.

There's stories, yes, but none of that is real. Just things humans made up so they could torture each other and some animals they didn't like.

[a little cynical there, but okay. And since we're apparently just gonna do this bird-passing thing for a bit:]

See? It's pretty good, even if you're not having them in hot weather.

No, it really would be! So cold, and sweet... like fruit flavored snow?!

[A higher wave comes, and Rin's forced to let her leg drop to keep from falling over entirely. With this subject, though, she doesn't mind it.]

Oh, actually, I'm certain of it!

[Digging her toes into the sand, she shifts to better face Camilla without a glare obscuring her vision, tapping a fist into an open palm.]

I'm still not sure what his second typing is, if he even has one, but through trial and error I've worked out he's a fighting type pokemon. Our training is probably going as smoothly as it is for that reason.

[She hums appreciatively.] Comfort food. Are you American?

[None of those dishes really scream American, mind, it's more what a blend they are. European, meets traditional Japanese, meets Indian; they're the kind of meals she can imagine an American family might make if they were health conscious, and abstaining from the sort of fast food that country is famous for.]

No, trust me, I understand. [She looks away, thoughtful.] I understand...

You should probably call them off, unless you intend to pay for the damages.

Once or twice, just to confirm some things. It was one of the ways I managed to verify Monkey was a fighting type.

[Since as such, he'd be weak to flying. But with that in mind, she gets her to a point.]

I was thinking you could so the same with Miphanus and your other little one.

I... could, yes.

[ Lickitung isn't that little but she looks unsure as he gets the balls for both back from the Pokemon center lady, looking at them both. Huh. ]

... I suppose it would be quite efficient.

[pay with what money is Sena's clear train of thought as he visibly panics.]

Uh...right...

[Sigh. And they were being so nice, too.]

Guys, that's...that's really nice of you, and all, but we really shouldn't start a fire inside...

[Vee doesn't get it, but okay. No fire. Monta looks a little disappointed, though. Maybe. It's hard to tell.]

[Rey manages to get herself out of whatever bad memory she was lost in; turning to face Jake, she gives him a serious look.]

Does that matter if, at the end of the day, we both want the same thing?

[That makes Rey laugh softly.]

I may need to take you up on that. I could use a few rereads of that battling book you've got.

[Honestly, the basics seem complicated enough - let's just hope that they won't need to study Advanced Battling to have a chance against Team Galactic....]

And it's funny you say that. About the fire Pokemon, I mean; there aren't actually all that many in my book.

Like I said, I don't argue reasons. It's good to know 'em, but I'm not going to fight over them.

[So there's that.]

As long as we both acknowledge that at the end of the day I really like being alive, and nothing's done to jeopardize that? You can have all the reasons you want.

About the only one I can recall are the Ponyta I encountered with Johan a while back... [ . . . There had to be others Right? Maybe? ]

[Big mood, re: that no money thing. Rin's glad the the pair listen to Sena quickly though, avoiding a serious incident. But that just leaves them at square one, doesn't it? Rin slaps her knees, and makes to stand.]

This is all of your things?

[Whatever's in his bag, and presumably the bedroll and blankets, if he has them.]
