Week 3.
WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. POKEMON AVAILABLE: IN CITIES / NEAR WATER SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week three of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |
WEDNESDAY
breaking and entering part two
Michael's made himself quite at home in the Pokemon Center, along with his Pokemon. The recently evolved Cat Janet takes up a lot more space now, enough that he's requisitioned an extra mattress for her. The green ribbon she used to wear around her neck is now tied in a neat little bow around one of her front paws like a bracelet, though the pin is gone. It's gotten a little dirty.
Cat Janet in general is getting dirtier lately. She likes to run off ahead now? Even by the shore, in all that awful sand. Michael's taken to sitting and brushing her in the morning after he's gotten himself ready, getting all the grit out of her pretty fur.]
We need to get you a new collar. It was a good look.
[Once he's ready for the day, he spends the start of it just poking around the town, exploring a little. If he sees anybody else out, though, he'll approach them.]
Hey - you mind helping me with a little experiment?
[Later in the afternoon...well. That conversation with Liam didn't exactly make him feel fantastic about things, but it had proved helpful in the end, hadn't it? So there's that. And there's also the fact that the Gym here is just as dead and empty as the one in Veilstone. Is this a thing?
Michael wants to know. So he's walking into people's houses again, just knocking loudly on the doors before opening them right up as long as they aren't locked. This time he's only got one question:]
Hi, are you familiar with Crasher Wake? Or...a sort of smarmy-looking kid with blue devil hair?
[He mimes devil horns. Okay, that's two questions.]

The houses in Pastoria are set up vaguely similarly to the houses in Veilstone; generally single-family, generally...not fully occupied from what you can tell, but generally there's usually someone in there. The first house you enter actually has a couple of kids as well! ...Weird, creepy, blank-eyed kids that will look at you as you enter like they're considering sending you out into the world's most apathetic cornfield. But kids.
Thankfully there's someone watching the kids as they don't do much of anything at all; looks like a babysitter, maybe? She's definitely not the kids' mom, maybe she's a teenager. She'll look over at the question, though.]
Everyone knows Crasher Wake.

[ Because that looks like some clean up going on.
Anyway, here is Ventus with his own two Pokemon out, though Togepi is not in his arms this time, he's nearby the Pokemon and Klefki is hovering nearby. ]

Gym - SWIMMING TIME
But Rey is nothing if not resourceful.
So if you happen to be wandering around the gym at any time on Wednesday, you'll be greeted to the sight of Rey waist-deep in one of the shallower areas, nervously eyeing the deeper end and running her hands along the surface of the water. Her two Pokemon are standing on the edge, Golett watching with markedly more interest than Riolu. The former also happens to be soaking wet, as if it had leapt into the water at one point.]
...
....surely it can't be that difficult....
[Someone is trying to teach herself to swim.]

When you enter the Pokemart, you'll find Kiryu behind the counter, with a blue apron that has a white Pokeball symbol on the front. No nametag]
Welcome to the Pokemart. Please browse our products. If you need any help, please ask.
[Yep, he's hard at work.
Later he's at the Pokemon Center working there too, hauling what seem to be very heavy bags of food for Pokemon and medicines. Behind him Still-Unnamed-Heracross is following around, carrying large plastic containers]
So you're a Fighting type too. I should have guessed -- you got strength.
[Yeah, he realized his team has two Fighting types. He decided he's fine with that, even if it's kind of a disadvantage.
Finally, Kiryu sits with Daigo by the edge of the water. They have a small box of bowties, bought with part of the money Kiryu earned throughout the day. They have supplies, they have everything else they may need, and now they have bowties. It was a good day]
You really need this many bowties?
[Kiryu is willing to indulge Daigo on this, yep]

Zelda laughs and follows up on this, ]
Can he even wear them?

[Kind of an oversight, yep. Daigo's rather interested in them, even though so far all he has managed to do is put one as a bracelet]

It all starts when a little blue critter winds up toddling into Camilla's range; Camilla's mostly out toward the beach looking for some battle partners for her darlings, and she sends Arion on the attack. It's simple enough, especially since he's become rather adept at battling; the Wooper is a slippery little opponent, one that Arion has enough trouble trying to use his new technique on. He manages to score a few hits, though, and seems to get the upper hand on the creature.
...Of course, one thing Arion didn't consider is that the creature would try to walk away from the battle. It's something Camilla herself pays little mind to--]
Come along, dear, we'll find you another opponent. It's nothing you need to worry yourself over.
[--but Arion? Yeah, no. He's sure as fuck not gonna let a perfectly good pile of EXP just toddle away!
He starts after the creature, Camilla's calls for him to come back ignored in favor of pursuit. It results in Camilla running after him as they all find themselves in the Marsh, the Deino's pursuit bringing it in deeper and deeper as it follows the creature. Camilla herself manages to lose sight of him along the way, and the marsh itself looks absolutely treacherous. It's not going to stop Camilla, though, shouting out--]
Arion?! Arion, where are you!? [Camilla's using the stick she trained the Deino with to hold herself up as she tries to transverse the marsh--she thinks he went this way? She's not sure, but--] Oh, gods, where have you gotten off to now...
[Once...that little misadventure is over, you can find her outside of the Pokemon Center in the evening; she's looking rather unfortunate, covered in all of the mud and muck from the marsh, and it looks like Arion himself didn't fare much better. With a promise to payback one of the townfolk for allowing her to borrow a nice washbasin, it looks like she's managing to clean him up of all of the muck and gunk from getting into that mess.
She's...not pleased, to say the least, and it's an unattractive look for sure, but she's just very quietly kind of stewing after all of that. This little rascal really was a handful...]
Arion...darling. Please, when I tell you not to pursue something, do not do such a thing. You could have gotten seriously hurt!
[Arion doesn't really give much of a reply--his temper really seems to only flare, not sustain--and Camilla simply seems to shake her head and go back to scrubbing his fur.
Funnily enough, said little runaway of a Wooper is actually still alongside them. She's...not sure if she managed to catch the damn thing by doing nothing but catch it's interest or what, but he follows instructions when asked, filling the basin with more water and then just kind of laying on the ground. It's one of those evenings.]

[Ignis came in early in the evening, both his Pokemon a step ahead of him as usual.]
You sound upset. What's happened?
no subject
A bit of a...well, I could call it a serendipitous adventure, but I would be lying to both yourself and I by saying such a thing.
I was training with Arion near the beach when one of his targets proceeded to try and walk off; I tried to call him back over, but he proceeded to launch right after the darling and got lead into that dreadful marsh. It was...rather horrific, if I may say so myself.
[She is so practically steaming mad and she's trying not to take it out on her darling partner? But holy shit, you had one job, Arion.]

[we’re all doing our best, so he’s not mocking exactly, but it’s still kinda funny.]
At least it looks like you got a little something out of it.
no subject
[That's...admittedly said with something of a laugh, because honestly. What else can she do? It's not full on despair, but it's mostly just exasperated.
Camilla does look to her new partner with a smile when Kayneth brings him up, however.]
It would seem so. It's quite funny...I fully intended to leave the little one be, but he decided to follow me all the way out of the marsh and over here. I didn't expect to get an attachment to such a creature, but...
[like. look at it. he got no arms and a blank face but he's so cute??]

Marsh
What on earth are you doing. Are you lost.
[It speaks in....well, look. It can imitate the sound of Michael's voice perfectly. But things like tone and inflection are difficult for an entirely emotionless bird, so the overall effect is a sort of really creepy dull Michael monotone.
It's unfortunate.]

I'm far from most, I simply need to find...my...
[...oh, well that's. She was distracted enough trying to look for her partner but. This. Um. Okay, she was expecting the old man, not this. Bird.]
