Your arrival at Lake Valor is met with no fanfare at all, nor are there any obstructions; it seems that Team Galactic has moved on from here, the area devoid of activity and strangely-dressed people for the time being.

The area is also largely devoid of water.

There's some, in the area that presumably was the lake once; however, it can hardly be called a proper lake now. There's a massive crater in the middle of the clearing that that now-unobstructed path through the woods takes you to; it's refilled some since whatever incident caused it, but the water is only about knee-high at the deepest and generally incapable of impeding you much if you should choose to wade into it.

Whatever you choose to do, there's a massive, raised area in the middle of what's left of the lake, a rock formation of some sort; it's capable of being scaled with reasonably little difficulty. An opening is visible in the rock face, large and gaping, leading inwards and downwards into a cavern system of some sort.

Your exploration starts now; time to see if there really is nothing worth reporting in the area.

[The lights are blinking in a slightly different pattern than the one used before. It's different than the pattern of the surrounding Spiritomb as well.]

... I believe there is a pattern.

[ Hmmm. ]

... We must see the god of this lake. Are you - allies of it?

I'd hoped that was the case. Maybe it's the same sort I'm familiar with, though I wouldn't presume we're that lucky.

[do the ghosts speak morse code, is the implied question here]

[ Fuck if she knows what a morse code is???? But we can try to do blind man and girl who doesn't know it try to do a morse code? She will do her best to describe the way the lights twinkle out loud for him? As this continues. ]

[While Bucky is dealing with his own Spiritomb, he is looking around every once in a while to see what other people are doing.

If it's blinking it morse code, he should be able to understand it.]

[That gets a different pattern of blinking lights!]

[ Okay, huh. Well she'll be trying to describe it for Ignis on the off chance it is a code he recognizes. But she presses on, ]

... Can you perhaps... [ Hmmmm. ] Perhaps you could move the potion a certain direction to make things more clear me for? To knock it to the left for no and to the right for yes?

[That's interesting. The lights blink a bit and then a tendril of that smoke slips out to knock the potion over to the right.

Yes.]

[ She smiles! And then for Ignis's sake: ]

They can! Oh, thank you!

[ Okay, so... ]

Are you friends of the lake guardian?

[Give it a moment to set the potion back upright... That question doesn't get a response right away, but eventually the Spiritomb knocks the potion over again.

Yes.]

[ Oh good. ... Good. She meats her hands in front of her, crossing into a prayer position, but, ]

We were asked to come here by Cynthia. Does her name mean anything to you?

[Once again the potion is set back upright, and then once again knocked over.

No.]

[ Well damn. Ah well though, she brushes back some hair. That might've made it easier, but... ]

Well, she told us that the lake guardian might help us, because we stand in opposition to Team Galactic. Do you know of them?

[ . . . I mean probably given that whole thing with Rin there so. ]

[It sets the potion back up... you know what, it's just easier to blink the lights like it's been doing for Kayneth, so just to keep things simpler...

Yes. The lights blink very aggressively.]

[ . . . ]

We were once held by them, forced to be a part of their order. But something broke us free, and now... We are on a journey. We both want to return to our homes but... many of us, and I at least, wish to restore this world to what it once was.

[ That isn't a yes or no question and she knows it. ]

[The Spiritomb listen to that and their lights blink a bit with no clear "yes" or "no" designation. The one you've been talking to eventually flashes its lights yes though it's sort of hesitant, like it's not really sure how to react.]

[ It's okay, she knows that words... can't as easily convey all of this. Zelda steps forward, and she smiles, crossing her hands together, ]

I will stand against Cyrus, and we wish to see the world restored. I believe that seeing the lake guardian shall be an important step. I would very much like to meet them.

[That doesn't really get a solid response. There's a lot of lights flashing, both on the one she's been talking to and the ones nearby as they communicate. There isn't a solid yes or no answer to that, though.]

We will respect your wishes, [ Or well, she can't speak for everyone. She blushes a little and then puts her hands back in the prayer pose. ] ... But I would like the chance for an audience. To know more about this world, and to help the people in it.

[Once again, that doesn't get a solid answer. There's a lot of flashing lights, but they don't seem to know how to respond.]

[ I mean, she'll wait to see if there's some sort of consensus for a bit, but if there doesn't seem to be, she'll nod and, ]

[More flashing lights that eventually settle on yes. They're. They're trying.]

[ I mean, everyone else is going on doing their thing too. So...

While she does let this sit for a while, she eventually takes another few steps forward, confidently but sort of questioningly as well. ]

[Like before, they'll shrink back. They don't recoil as much this time, though. What now?]

[ Miphanus are you still... yeah, her Beldum is still beside her. And so Zelda will... uh. I mean, she doesn't know the proper procedure here, so she'll - this reminds her of the springs of courage and power and wisdom, what with the water. So she's gong to get down on her knees, also making herself more eye level with these things ]
