Week 5.

WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... We do, yes. We've known each other since we were children.

[With a passenger of a Chingling having made its home on her back, Hemera the Absol wandered a few steps over to Keith to check him out in turn. The Larvesta seemed uninterested, and a Swablu had perched just overhead on the statue.]

...Are you adjusting alright? I'm aware it's a little disorienting at minimum.

[ when ignis says that, keith's reminded of him and shiro. just a little.

a part of him wishes shiro were here to help, but shiro's better off with voltron. helping everyone. they can manage without keith, now that shiro's back with the black lion.

he frowns a little, but steps back a little when hemera approaches him. the absol is larger in contrast to his little shinx... ]

Uh...hi?

[ then, to ignis: ] As alright as I can be. [ ... ] I was in the middle of heading to the Blade of Marmora before I woke up here.

[discutio]

[the what now.]

Apologies--I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term.

[redbellion]

The Blade of Marmora. They're allies with Voltron.

[ guess who still hasn't figured out that nobody here knows what voltron is ]

...Sorry, I've not heard of that either.

[keith?????]

What?

...You're kidding me.

[discutio]

Might I point out the fact that we're all from radically differing universes? I've no doubt that you've never heard of all manner of things I consider normal, either.

[redbellion]

Different universes.

[ okay. he'd assumed different dimensions meant that they were all from the same set of galaxies, but...damn. ]

...Team Galactic must be pretty powerful if they were able to accomplish that much. Pulling people from different universes and all.

[discutio]

[and here ignis had kind of taken 'dimension' and 'universe' interchangeably, hence the current state of confusion]

That does appear to be precisely the case. They've machinery responsible for the mental conditioning this world's been subject to, as well as what amounts to a portal machine that got us to this city in the first place.

[redbellion]

[ #voltronthings, tbh. ]

That means we've got a lot more work cut out for us than I thought.

[ and it's entirely possible that voltron might not be able to save them now. ]

[discutio]

Oh, I assure you, we're almost laughably outclassed by who we're fighting right now. We have a lot of effort to put in if we're to accomplish much.

[redbellion]

You guys have already faced them?

[discutio]

We had a brief civil encounter with Commander Saturn a little while back--he's definitely a threat we'll have to face sooner or later, though I don't think most of us are too thrilled about the idea. His partner's doubtless a powerful one, I don't think any of us can even come close just yet. Only yesterday we faced a girl native to this world that was under the same mental conditioning as most of Team Galactic--Maylene, she called herself a Gym Leader. Two of us lost outright with nearly no resistance, so however she's trained her own team it's something we can't match yet.

...And this is all to say nothing at all of Cyrus, the one in charge of Galactic to begin with. We've only heard mention of him, but if he outranks people of that level of strength...'dangerous' does not begin to cover it.

[redbellion]

They're powerful in terms of how they fight with their Pokemon, right? Since that's how things apparently work in this world.

[ ... ] I get the whole "fighting with your partner" thing. [ he looks down at his shinx. ] I just don't like the idea of being so far behind everyone else.

[discutio]

Exactly. Don't worry--I'm sure we're all going to be more than willing to help you catch up. We need all the help we can get.

[redbellion]

[ he gives ignis a small smile. ]

Thanks. I won't let you down.

[ ... ] So...once I get some money, where's the best place to start?

[discutio]

Well, supplies would be a good starting point. It seems most cities have shops selling curatives as well as the capsules meant to contain your Pokemon. In matters of research, you may want to speak to Zelda--she'd no doubt be valuable help getting you started with training as well.
