Week 5.
WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week five of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |
TUESDAY
Investigation
... unless there's something to unveil though I don't wanna make you guys do that investigation again though unless you want so the actual point is:but right now... There's that statue. That statue has her real curious. So she's going to be paying some particular attention to it today. Looking around it, looking at nay plaques for it, asking around town about it, just trying to get a feel for what it is, why it's there. All that good stuff. ... Man she wishes she had a library. So that's objective one, and it lasts her until the later afternoon. You might catch her during that time or you might catch her later as she's observing that there are shellos in this city as well! Admittedly, mostly centered around those lakes, but .. it's still interesting? The slugs are still here. soggies may rule.
... But anyway! Second task, in the early afternoon. This one involves Zelda sitting outside of the Pokemon Center with two books open as well as her notepad as she has all three of her Pokemon (Miphanus the Beldum, Saber the Lickitung, and the as yet unnamed Alolan Geodude) as she speaks to them ]
Miphanus, you still seem to have no attack except for that strong tackle... which I suspect now is not a tackle proper, given the damage you seem to do to yourself. Particularly as compared to your tackle [ The Geodude ] ... Saber, your variety only continues to grow, though I do wonder about the properties of your main Lick... it really must not be a normal-aligned move, I can now be certain. And that new glowing eye thing...

[Ignis' general mood seemed startlingly different than it had when last they talked; in fact for the first time he almost looked cheerful even in the usual all-black uniform. He carried a small package in one hand, approaching with a smile and all four of his Pokemon trailing a step behind.]
I'm sorry to interrupt, you sound busy. When you've time to spare, do you think I could ask a favor of you?

[ That said, she says it all a little sheepishly and answers, ]
What do you need, Ignis?

Hey, Zelda. Are you busy?

No, not at all. I'm merely working through some documentation and theorizing.

Honestly, I don't know how people here know the names offhand...

Probably cultural custom. I do not need to think hard about explaining who the Zora or Gerudo are and have a mental image for a Bokoblin, but no one else will. Similarly, if they grew up with the moves, they will be more suited to remember them.

Investigation!
The chores have been going easily enough, and today the man requested Rin mow his backyard. Like a fool, she easily accepted and got straight to work. She got straight to work 45 minutes ago.
See, Rin isn't very good with machines and appliances... She cannot, for the life of her, figure out how to get this contraption to work? Red in the face and frazzled, she's reaching her boiling point, and if you happen to be walking past this random guy's backyard, you might be witness to the point where she snaps and just screams at the sky. Why won't it work?! Stupid piece of junk! Angrily, Rin kicks the lawnmower.
The lawnmower kicks her back.]
Eh?! [Eyes wide, Rin goes stock still. Did that just—?
A moment later there's an awful sound, and exhaust fumes spew everywhere. Squealing, Rin has to hop over the fence to get away. Coughing and gagging, the moment her vision clears, the teenager is looking livid, sputtering furiously as she points an indignant finger at the lawnmower.]
Oooh, you're cheeky for a stupid piece of junk! I know you did that on purpose! I can see you looking at me!
[Wow, this girl is rude. The lawnmower spews even more smoke, making her cough. If she wasn't furious before, Rin is burning up now. She's so angry, she might actually be transforming]
That's—ack. [She hops the fence, going back in.] I've had enough! Think you can pull one over on me, huh?! Want a fight?! You're going to get it! There won't be anything left to recycle when I'm through with you!
[...Two hours and a broken fence later, Rin sits outside the Eterna City Gym with a sentient lawnmower, sulking. And that's the story of how she caught a Rotom.]
This is all your fault.
[The Rotom turns over its engine. Girl, you're dumb, and you're still rude.
Turns out, the homeowner was happy to give up his possessed lawnmower, and even paid her a little for defeating it. But understandably after all of that mess and ruckus, he didn't really want to put up with either of them anymore... Even spiritless people have their limit. Rin feels pretty bad, actually. He didn't ask her to, but she's already trying to work out how she can fix his fence with her budget.
Maybe now is a good time to work on if any of the medicine she's been trying to make is worth selling...? There's an herb shop in this city, though, so there's already a market for that. But that also gives her a chance to learn more about the plants that grow in this world, so after cleaning up, Rin sets off to investigate and tries the door. Anyone in?]

...You look like you need some help.
[ that is. probably an understatement. but that is indeed a sentient lawnmower, and that can lead to a lot of unneeded trouble. ]

If there were, he might have just gone with the stealing plan. Lots less effort. But there’s more entertaining things he can probably get paid for!
So, an open area somewhere in the city has been commandeered, with a large sign set up reading DANCE LESSONS. Michael, all smiles and charm, has managed to woo a small group of people, enough to partner off evenly while he demonstrates with some random woman. Without a real partner, he can’t show off to the fullest extent, but he seems to be taking them through the basics of some kind of lively ballroom dance. Once he’s finished demonstrating, he gets someone else to take over with the woman and starts circling around to watch what his students are doing. It’s...well, it’s very obvious that they’re still without spirit, but some kind of effort might be happening?]
There, see? You could be much worse at this!
[He’s trying, too?
Later on, he’s flipped the sign around to repurpose it; it now reads TEAM DOUBLE TEAM. Michael’s now sitting in a chair nearby, leafing through some books, with all three of his Pokémon sprawled out around. He doesn’t look like he’s paying attention, but if any of the other off-worlders pass by, he’ll glance up and wave them over.]
Hey, come here a minute. This TM seems like it works on everything, I want to try it on all our Pokémon. You know how to use these yet?
[In the evening, he’ll be in the condo building, looking for an empty condo to crash in. There’s real beds here, he wants one.]
team double team double team
Michael interrupting them is probably a nice change of pace, all things considered.]
