Week 5.

WEEK 5

As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it.

The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell...

The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain.

Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue...

Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful...

CURRENT LOCATION: ETERNA CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

[OOC: Welcome to week five of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

hyruglyphics: (so like I'll get some better)

Zora and Gorons are two of the tribes of Hyrule. The Gorons are people of the earth and Zora of the water. ... And then Bokoblins are a fairly weak monster species.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

Oh, I see. That's interesting, and I'm not sure if we quite have equivalents in my world... can you tell me a bit more about them?
hyruglyphics: (nearly at 50!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-08 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, of course! [ ... Mmmm. ] The Gorons actually resemble those Graveler pokemon we've seen a little in the foothills somewhat? They're a species of the earth, who tend to have round, strong bodies and rocky skin, especially on their back. They're often quite top heavy? They're a good natured and hearty people, who care capable of living on Death Mountain, and who survive by eating rocks.

As for the Zora... their forms are elegant and beautiful. As people of the water, they have smooth and water resistant skin, with fins on their arms and head, looking something between a Hylian and a fish ... though much more gorgeous than that might imply. They are notably long lived, able to live for dozens if not hundreds of years most than most other people.
enjoymyatelier: what is that thing doing here... (>warily regard bullet)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-09 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...Those are both very interesting, and I can think of some vague equivalents from my world, but nothing exact.

Hm. I thought parallel worlds were supposed to be a bit more uniform than this, but apparently not...
hyruglyphics: (wow me)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-10 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[ . . . ]

In that regard, I've been perplexed by all of your ears.
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-12 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
...ah. So your ears are more normal where you're from? I've actually heard some reports that certain ancient individuals of non-human ancestry in our world have had more pointed ears, so I was wondering...
hyruglyphics: (for the icons!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-12 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The ears of Hylians, Sheikah, and Gerudo all look as mine do yes. [ ... ] All of which are human tribes, that is.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-14 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. Well, that's very interesting, and something I'll have to keep in mind... I wonder why that happened in your world, but not in mine.
hyruglyphics: (some other icons might be there)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-14 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Or about anyone else's. I can tell you Rin was somewhat perplexed about Hyrule's magic. We have comparatively few sorcerers or wizards, but the creation of potions is quite commonplace.

[ Which seemed weird to her so shrug. ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-16 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm... yes, that is a bit strange. Well, I guess this world is sort of like that, since it seems like all the magic is in the Pokemon... or at least most of it. I've come across a few mentions of human psychics in books, but I don't know how much that would resemble my world's magic.
hyruglyphics: (keywords here?)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-16 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, humans who can use their powers like Psychic types, perhaps?

[ That's super cool, actually!! ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-17 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
That seems to be the case, yes. I'd be interested in talking to someone with that ability, but I don't know if anyone would really open up about it with things the way they are.
hyruglyphics: (I mean mostly I)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-17 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
As more people come into their passions, we'll both search for them! I'm sure an investigation towards that can be mounted in the future!
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-18 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, definitely! Hopefully we'll be able to find any of them. They're... apparently not completely uncommon, but rare enough that we might have to do some looking...
hyruglyphics: (Pew Pew)

[ Another nod at that, and she looks back to her notes with a smile, also reaching out to brush at her Pokemon a little. She...

She had so much more she wanted to know about this world. It really was fascinating. ]
